Best pizza in Las Vegas! – As a native Italian that recently moved to Las Vegas from the East Coast, one of the first challenges I had was to find a great pizza that was comparable to the few real Italian pizzerie available in NYC. A good friend of mine took me to Grimaldi's few weeks ago and I liked the pizza, but once I tried Settebello there was no comparaison. Settebello pizza is ITALIAN and not Italian-American. I found in it the flavors that I left few years ago back in the South of Itay. I definitely recommend the Margherita where the full flavors of the mozzarella and the tomato sauce come alive. The tomato sauce for once, has not been cooked with dried herbs (a mistake that a lot of pizzerie make, making the sauce bitter). Any fresh herb, oregano or basil, is added on the top of the pizza (and not in the sauce). I wish all pizza makers could read this!
Anyhow, I will go back to Henderson at least once a week (I live 40 minutes away) as I'm now addicted to their pizza, and I will convert my friends as well. The place is also kids friendly, they have a special deal for children that includes drinks, a small pizza and their delicious ice cream. I just wish they would open in Summerlin!
My new permanent pizza home! – Wow, I cannot believe that anyone would compare this pizza to Grimaldi's and choose Grimaldi's. I grew up in the NE eating good NY pizza and must admit I started eating at Settebello's just to hold my over until I could get my NY pie fix. Now that Grimaldi's has opened I am thinking that Settebello has spoiled me and I can't go back (I have tried Grimaldi's twice now). I cannot eat any other pizza without uttering the words "We should have gone to Settebello". My only problem is what is with that location? I still make it up there about two or three times a month, but I think it would be a weekly stop if it were just more convenient. It is usually pretty busy when I am there, but not enough to warrent reservations or anything. I would love to see how busy this place would be in a good location.
This is good Pizza, but....... – This was some of the best in Las Vegas until I tried the new Grimaldi's on Eastern. Now this is the real deal. Real NY Pizza from NY!!!
LOVE this place! – This is the greatest little pizza place. I live about 40 minutes away from Settebello and I eat there regularly. I love the arugula salad and the antipasto plate with all the cured meats. And every pizza I've had is great. The only thing I've tried that I didn't love was one of the calzones-- it came practically raw inside and I had to send it back for a new one. I always go for lunch when it's slow because I've heard dinners are way too busy and service suffers. I love this place!
Great, authentic food – Settebello is by far my favorite place for pizza in Las Vegas. The menu is simple, just salads and neopolitan style pizzas, and they make both perfectly. The salads are extremely fresh- at least the one I keep ordering with the greens and shaved parm on top- I like it so much I haven't tried anything else. They also have nice touches like sea salt on the table- it really adds a nice dimension to the salads and pizza.
The pizzas are outstanding and all are based on the same crust. If you haven't had this style before it's an eye-opening experience. The crust is fairly thin, but because of the ingredients and the way it's cooked (in an authentic pizza oven) it bubbles up in places and has a great texture and chewiness. The edges and tops of the "bubbles" can get very slight char, which adds a subtle smoky flavor and a nice bit of crunch.
The crust is topped with some of the most flavorful ingredients I've had on a pizza. The menu shows wher they get everything from (flour from Italy, some toppings from Seattle, etc) and you can taste the differnce.
My only disappointment was my first visit. I wanted to try all the flavors so I ordered the quatrro pizza with four different toppings in four sections. I thought it was too much moisture for the crust to handle and it started to get a little soggy. Still delicious, but not nearly as good as the plain margheritti pizza my wife ordered.
My next visit I went with the pizza with sausage, mushrooms and pine nuts and it was about as perfect a pizza experience as I have ever had. Plenty of flavors, but not so much going on that it overpowered the crust.
As a bonus, they happen to serve my wife's favorite Pinot Grigio by the glass, Santa Margarita.
The only problem with Settebello is that about three times a week, randomly, I get a craving for it. Fortunately I've converted several friends and family members to fans as well so at least I have company...
THe only place for pizza in the Las Vegas valley – We discovered Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana one year ago, and can not eat any other pizza. Fresh ingredients, very friendly management and staff, and always a new experience with the "pizza of the week". My daughter and son-in-law make extra visits from California just to get their pizza. Wherever you live in the valley, it is worth the drive.
So good! – All I can really say is...yummy!!!!!! Thin soft crust and made with acutal buffalo mozzerella (a rare, or non-existant occurance in Vegas.) By far the best pizza in Las Vegas!
Better than Pizzeria Bianco and Mozza – I just got back to LA from a long weekend in Vegas. A friend, knowing that I am a pizza nut, dragged me all the way to Henderson from the strip to try this place out. I have been to pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix several times (a great pizza) and have been to the new pizzeria Mozza here in LA once (also great pizza).
In my opinion Settebello is serving a better pizza than both. I have never written a review for any restaurant, but this place deserves some attention. If you know quality food you will love this place. If you are looking for the dime a dozen take out and delivery this is not for you.
I cannot recommend this place enough, it will be a mainstay on my Vegas list when I am in town.
Best pizza in Clark County. – Simply great pizza. In Clark County, home of the the too sweet sauce, the too fake cheese, and the total inability to make a good pizza even with pizzarias on every corner, there is finally Settebello. Since I am from Chicago, I would rather have a deep dish pizza, but given a choice of all the bad varieties of pizza locally, I'll always go here. Their thin, chewy crust with just a coating of well balanced tomato sauce makes an awesome pizza. I like the quattro -- mushrooms, olives, sausage and salumi. Perfecto!
Non sarete delusi--you will not be disapponted! – I lived in Rome from 1969--1975 and frequently visited Naples and my maternal homeland of Sicily. In
the six years I lived in Italy, I ate pizza nearly everyday for lunch--along with a salad and a glass or two of the local Alban Frascati (that delightfully crisp white wine vinted southeast of Rome).
When I walked into Settebello for the first time I immediately felt at home. My Italiano radar was on high alert and I knew I was in for a real treat. I saw the large wood burning oven and I knew I would be revisiting my Roman lunch tradition of nearly 30 years past.
I ordered a serving of insalata caprese and the mozzarella was molto fantastico....and I ordered a margherita pizza--my test of any worthy pizzeria....and then I ordered my second pizza....marinara....and then I ordered two more pizzas to take home with me.....
I have often returned to Settebello---and it is worth your time and effort to make your way to Henderson and feast on vera pizza naploetana...bring your appetite....gentle on the wallet....and eat your pizza like an Italian with your knife and fork----Quando in Roma......
One thing I almost forgot was to tell you how friendly everyone is at Settebello. They cannot do enough for you.....so, make your way to Settebello and Buon Appetito! Viva Settebello!
