Beautiful Wedding, Great Pictures.
We wanted to have a beautiful outdoor wedding in June. I wanted vines and water and grass and I wanted everything to be white and princess-esque. The Heritage Garden delivered!! I loved it from the moment I walked in. My family was worried that it would be too hot out to have a June wedding but it was perfect! Right by the water and completely shaded, none of the guests got hot or sweaty. We didn't have our reception there (and reading some reviews I'm glad we didn't) Instead, we wanted to have a custom reception in my parents back yard, which was PERFECT.
The photographer was great and energetic, my family and wedding party loved him!
On the flip side, it was rather confusing to me who I was working with as my planner since the original girl left or got fired and I wasn't informed. I just got an email from another girl in response to my email to my planner, just as if it had never happened and she was the planner all along... Resulting from this, she didn't really know what I was looking for or planning so when rehearsal came, it got a little frustrating. Also, you only get 30 min. to rehears and getting a whole wedding party complete with kids to go where they need to go and do what they need to do in 30 min. is a little unrealistic so wee spent an hour or so in my parents backyard and then went to the venue for the final run thru, this caused some confusion with the new planner cause she was trying to micro-manage and didn't get the fact that we were going to do it our way.
The florist is AMAZING! I had one appointment with her and went through her flip book to show her my ideas, she was very educational and would let me know if a certain flower looked a little different in person and wouldn't go with the others or my dress. She got the general idea of what I wanted in about 15 min and when I received my flowers the day of the wedding, I almost cried! It was exactly what I wanted, even tho at the time I really didn't know what I wanted (I'm not knowledgeable on flowers AT ALL, the first time I had seen 80% of the flowers I chose was looking through her flip-book)
I was very impressed by the pictures, just a side note, ask him not to do too much photo-shop. Some of them were a little to plastic looking but 99% of them were gorgeous!
We were most impressed by the price, we got:
-the pictures (with CD)
for around $2,000!
It has been almost a year and we occasionally look at our pictures. I don't have one regret about any of it, I loved my wedding, I wish I could do it all again!
Wedding. I paid a lot of money to have my wedding here! I paid for over 170 guests and was not satisfied. The DJ messed up on the announcement of my husband and I for the grand entrance by calling him a girls name! Really I paid how much money for you to mess up on the announcement of my husbands name and even worse you called him a girls name. My cake was leaning. The service sucked, the wait staff was so very inexperienced, I was embarrassed by my guest complaining about not getting any refills on their water. Soda, juice, water, coffee, and tea was suppose to be included with the price I paid, yet several of my guest were charged for these items. One of the waiters stepped on my dress and broke the button for my bustle so I was stuck carrying around my train slung on my arm for the rest of the night! They did not have my champagne on ice and even worse never uncorked it for the toast, someone in my bridal party uncorked it and served it to my husband and I. The DJ sucked! Did the money dance in the last 30 mins of the receptions when everyone had already left. The ceremony was beautiful and not a single mistake was made, and the wedding planner Felecia is absolutely amazing but that it the only thing going for you! I had my wedding over 6 weeks ago and no one has responded to the complaints, horrible customer service! Would not recommend for the reception, ceremony only!
Our Day, Our Way but the Devil is in the Details.
We wanted a memorable, destination wedding & we decided that Las Vegas was the place to be. We had a fantastic day, with beautiful weather maxing out the gorgeous location and great energy from guests and Lakeside staff which made our unique afternoon wedding & reception perfect for us.
We chose Lakeside for the fabulous location & great wedding package that included a wedding planner which we thought would be our best option since all the planning had to be done by email or phone.
Beware though...when dealing with the wedding planner ,Felecia, you really have to stay on top of her. She was frequently non responsive and wouldn't answer the bride's emails for days or weeks at a time. She would call the groom back & get him his answers but sometimes the info she gave us was just out of left field or plain confusing. So be prepared to be annoyingly persistant if you want to make sure everything is in place, especially if you can't go in to meet with anyone on site.
Despite all of that, the flowers (arranged by email) were beautiful, the cake (also arranged by email) was absolutely fantastic and the photographer, Fernando Gonzalez was wonderful. He made us look great & circulated throughout our reception for some fun candid shots. Our guests loved him and his sense of humor. The only downside was because we couldn't have a meeting with him in advance to talk about specific options (for various group shots) some great photo opportunities were lost.
The DJ did a great job the day of the wedding but communications during the planning were spotty at best, like with Felecia, it was days or weeks before we could get ahold of him. In the end I made up my own playlist for the day, faxed it to Lakeside and called it done.
We had opted for a luncheon (even though we could have had a dinner selection) which was a little disappointing & bland, but again, since we weren't able to come in and do any tasting we knew we were basically getting a pig in a poke as the saying goes. The wine definitely made up for it though, with some great recommendations from the restaurant manager. Another word of warning, the restaurant changes it's wine list every 4-6 months so if you're sent a wine list to select from make sure to ask if its current & not from a year ago or you might be disappointed if the wine you really wanted isn't available anymore. They did go above & beyond though & made sure the groom had a bottle of his favorite red at the sweetheart table.
Last word of warning ...make sure that before you get into the Lakeside limo at the end of the reception that the driver is told (in front of you) that it's been paid for already!! We got double dinged when we got dropped off and the driver claimed he hadn't been paid for it and the groom forked over another $60 bucks rather than spoil the day arguing!
Over all the staff at Lakeside are wonderful & work very hard to make sure your day is your way.
You may want to think again!. Brides and Grooms: If you do decide to pick Lakeside as your wedding venue. Do not let Felecia be your wedding coordinator. She is non-responsive. You will be disappointed. We paid our deposit about one year in advance to our wedding date and half way through planning we cancelled Lakeside and are having to find a new wedding location. We live across country and the stress and lack of communication between Felecia and the florist really made us scared our wedding day wouldn't be everything we are wishing for. When we toured the property we loved it, so beautiful. McCall was so helpful and knowledgeable!!! After we paid our deposit it was all downhill. Finally after waiting 6 months for it to get better we cancelled. I think maybe with a different coordinator your experience might be a lot different. Melissa and McCall were fantastic! Avoid Felecia at all costs!
Perfect!. Jessika was a wonderful wedding planner. I never had to worry about a thing, she was on top of it the whole way. She was very professional, upbeat, and friendly. I emailed Jessika a lot throughout the planning and she always got back to me no more than an hour later if that. I asked for a very simple but elegant wedding and she delivered. The day of the wedding I was upgraded to another garden and it was beautiful and absolutely perfect! Getting the pictures from the wedding was easy and their photographer is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place if your looking to get out of the city and have a beautiful wedding outside and by the lake. Thanks Jessika!
Best Reception EVER!.
Felecia was there every step of the way. given the amount of other events she was juggling I was impressed at how much she was on hand for questions or meetings. she even stayed late one day so our out of house photographer could get the lay of the land! she was beyond exceptional and very accomodating. We didnt do our ceremony there, but im sure that it would have been magnificent regardless.
the DJ for the even was perfect. he knew exactly how to get the room buzzing, laughing and overall having a good time. nothing went wrong the whole night. perfect!
Lakeside Grand Garden. Felicia was excellent. She was very flexible in accomidating us when it got too cold outside. I was very greatful for everything. My whole party was very impressed by the place. It doesnt look like the average wedding chappels in Las Vegas. Very beautiful, no matter where you have the wedding...I could have had it in the parking lot and it was still beautiful. The bride room was beautiful, we fit our whole party in there and it was comfortable. I recommend this place for anyone who has a wedding in Vegas. And if you go out there, make sure you ask for Felicia...she is the best...
Best Garden Wedding in Las Vegas. Most Beautiful Location in Las Vegas! We recently got married at Lakeside Weddings and I have to say we loved it! It is by far the most unique and beautiful location to get married in Vegas. Our ceremony was in Grand Garden, right on the Lake with breathtaking views. We had arranged for extra floral and candle decorations which were just stunning!!! Thank you, Robin with "Flowers at Lakeside" which is the Flowershop in the same center! Felicia, our Wedding Planner was amazing - she truly went the extra mile for us making sure the ceremony and reception was perfect. We had a custom reception dinner in the glass enclosed banquet hall, which was catered by Garfield's Restaurant - delicious! Everything had exceeded our expectations and even Fernando our photographer gave us beautiful photos of a day that we will always remember. Thank you!!! UHAPPY BRIDE WORST PLACE. WOW! Felecia was our so called wedding planner. We never heard from her and when we did it was three weeks before the wedding and she claimed she was busy with other brides, REALLY!!!! She was always rude and nasty on the phone as if she had no time for us or our questions. The day of our wedding she claimed that we had a $100 balance on our account....WHAT??????? I have a signed receipt from you, she tells me its for lights, what lights, we didnt have extra lights. She ended up getting an extra $100 from my mom the day of my wedding and we still have not gotten a receipt for it from her. I have filed a complaint with Melissa and still nothing from them. Both of them need to be FIRED for being thiefs and LAIRS!!!! Felecia stolen an extra $100 from my mom. We did not have any special lights added. I want my money Melissa or else I am going to take you to court. This is crazy, why is Felecia still there. McCall was amazing and always so helpful, we had to call McCall to get answers cause Felecia never called. REALLY?????
Would do it again!. My wedding was in December and it was absolutely gorgeous. I had the pleasure of working with Miss Felicia and McCall and both of these ladies are fantastic! We got married in the Heritage garden with the draping willow trees and it was gorgeous! The ducks even came by and sang for us while doing our Sand Ceremony. We arranged everything from another state, and even being so far away things were handled with great care. They even let us borrow some items that we had forgotten! I would love to renew our vows here again when the time comes. It was gorgeous in the winter I can only imagine in spring!
