I was lucky enough to arrive here fairly early in the evening with a group of friends, which meant we got decent seating immediately. Our original plan was to have a drink or two and be on our way, but once we realized what Centrifuge was all about, we stayed for several hours! Our scantily-clad (and very hot) cocktail waitress kept the drinks coming with little or no delay. The music and service is interrupted at regular intervals in order for the staff to hop up on the bar and dance for about 1 minute straight as steam/smoke appears out of nowhere and the middle column behind the bar changes shape. As the night progressed, the bar became packed -- literally. I almost felt sorry for the latecomers as they tried to squeeze past each other, jockeying for position at the bar. The only downside of this venue is that I don't get to see Groove Kitty perform on stage -- Centrifuge used to be a stage near the lion exhibit. Oh well -- the memory of Groove Kitty's metal-friendly female guitarist lives on nonetheless!
Have to check it out if staying at MGM Grand. My girlfriend & I just returned from Vegas, where we stayed at MGM Grand. We were disappointed that we didn't get to go to Centrifuge on our first day there, as we enjoyed a late dinner before returning to the hotel around midnight (Sunday night), only to find Centrifuge CLOSED!!! What - a popular bar in a major Strip hotel closed at midnight on a Sunday night?!? Needless to say, we were disappointed, so we made sure to return 2 nights later. We only stopped by for a nightcap, but it was definitely a cool place to have a drink or two, especially if you can catch the bartenders dancing on top of the bar to "Sexyback" by Justin Timberlake...Centrifuge had a very cool, hip vibe about it, but is unpretentious unlike too many other places on the Strip...
Have to go.
Love this place.. its a must for all my Vegas trips
Staff is down to earth if you treat them nice, they are just as nice back to you.
Decor is awesome.. Music loud enough that you dont hear what other people are talking about, but soft enough to hear everyone @ your table.
Lighting is dim but not to dim.
Good times. Every city should have a bar with class like this.
Love this place!. I visited Centrifuge with friends from out of town, and I have to say that this will be my new spot to bring people. We had a blast! Everyone was so friendly and the drinks were great! They made us all Mojitos that were out of this world. You also get a great view of all the suckers paying big bucks to get in 54 while you only pay for drinks!
Incompetent Waitstaff. After sitting down, it took the cocktail waitress about 20 minutes to notice us, by which time my partner had gotten annoyed and ordered a drink at the bar. She was not pleased and sniped at him about not following proper protocol, then took another 20 minutes or so to finally get me my drink. I had to ask about it twice. Needless to say, she didn't get a tip! My advice: sit at the bar where the friendly bartenders can serve you in a much more timely fashion.
Circular-shaped bar and creative cocktails attract crowds for beginning- and end-of-the-night revelry..
In Short
This former casino slot area near Studio 54 has been transformed into a swanky bar with an elevated area and two bar tops. Plush love seats invite patrons to linger and get cozy. The drink menu features specialty cocktails from each of MGM Grand's signature restaurants that are infused with fruit and displayed in Louise Treize baccarat crystal bottles. Fruit-infused spirits include the Frida with strawberry-pineapple-infused Patron tequila, lime and citronage.
