Could be great, but horrible instead.
Turn down the music. If they would turn down the music, you could appreciate the bartenders and servers and it would be a very cool place. It's so loud it's almost impossible to do anything in the bar, including, paradoxically, enjoy the music. Take the other reviewer's rec and stop by the Griffin or go across the street to the Vanguard or Insert Coins instead. Definitely a skip.

Beauty Bar is Horrible.
This place is horrible. Do not waste your time going to this bar unless you want the "royal" treatment from Richie the security guy who has a massive inferiority complex. Our night was completely ruined by this a-hole. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, go next door to The Griffin, such a better, chill environment.

Downtown Vegas cool.
Yet another great addition to what is becoming a great downtown Las Vegas nightlife scene. The Citysearch comments about Wednesday nights are now outdated. Currently a super crew of guys are spinning on Wednesday nights, for an event called "Fantastic Damage", spinning anything from underground 60's funk and soul, some 70's rock, a little house, a little hip hop, some 80's new wave, a little jazz....it goes on and on. Spin magazine did a nice write up on them a couple of months ago. The basic musical rules are: all genres, all vinyl, all night. There is no cover and drink special are offered too. The 1st Friday of every month features "The Get Back". The place is packed to the gills with great dj's spinning very underground 60's and 70's funk and soul among a few other things. Saturday nights features dj's spinning more electroclach, punk, and Britpop. Occasional live bands appear as well. Most nights feature a dj spinning something other than the predictable plastic schtuff you get on the strip.

Enjoy a martini with your manicure in this '60s-style salon..
In Short
Based on a New York bar that really was a former beauty parlor, this place is simply dressed up to look like an early-1960s salon, complete with vintage furniture, glittery walls and an on-site manicurist. Gossip under a retro hair dryer--minus the pink curlers--or get a martini-and-manicure combo. Signature drinks have a certain kitchiness factor: Order up a Blue Rinse, concocted with blue Caracao, or a Prell--the bar's version of a grasshopper.
