Editorial Review for KĄ at MGM Grand – by Lily Fu
In Short
Audiences can expect the usual body contortions and high-flying acrobatics for which Cirque is known. But this show is touted as the most dazzling yet, with its use of fire, martial arts, puppetry and multimedia visuals to convey the show's central theme of duality. "Ka" is derived from the Egyptian belief that an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body accompanies all humans from this life to the next.

I guess I went to this show expecting something more spectacular. There were a few scenes that were pretty amzaing. But the story line was so weak it was hard to follow and understand. A few unneeded characters ...would have liked to have seen more pyrotechnics during the show and more arial stunts over the audience. The floating rotating stage was amazing...still trying to figure that one out. Could use a finale overhaul.
Pros: Stage technology was amazing
Cons: Too expensive for what you get out of the show.

I've seen 4 other Cirque shows in Vegas. This is the worst one in my opinion. For the price, your better off checking out any of the other 4. I agree with a previous post when it was stated that the performers were not very impressive. I usually leave Cirque with a sense of awe and amazement. That was not the case with this show. Fight scenes did not look real, they made shadow puppets, and the acrobatics were almost non-existent. The highlight is the costumes, the stage itself, and the two long-haired guys that were in the large spinning contraption towards the end. The soundtrack was also very well done.
Pros: Stage & lighting
Cons: Not quite on the same level as other Cirque shows
