THEY USE LOW GRADE SUSHI. SAKU BLOCK IS NOT TUNA MY FRIENDS. 2-3 POUNDS IN A BLOCK WITH FOOD COLORING. YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE IT IS PINK. THEY BUY THIS FOR CHEAP AND SELL AS GRADE A SUSHI.....MAKING PROFIT AND SELLING OLD FISH YUCK,
Avoid this place...Not the same. We have been to RA many times before to catch their happy hour but after this experience we will not go back. Our server was inattentive and lacked common knowledge about the menu. The few questions we asked about the menu were met with a confused look. I ordered a saki sangria which came to the table as a pathetic watered down drink--looked like pink water. I mentioned this to the server and she said "Oh really, the same bartender that is making everyone's drinks made yours?" and quickly walked away... While we are not diners that desire huge plates, they have totally skimped on the happy hour portions and what used to seem like a healthy meal seemed cheapened with fillers/sauces. They are no great deal anymore, nor are the drinks. The worst part of this was that I was sick the entire next day from this food. :(
HORRIBLE...AVOID THIS PLACE. I wish i would have read the reviews before eating here rather than after. They have many complaints and after eating there i see why!!! My experience goes like this...Me and my friends were greated kindly at the door by the hostess (good service so far). Our waitress (Raina) very unattentative (busy standing at the bar chatting with the bartender and discussing something on their phones) finally (5 minutes later) decides she should greet our table. She tries to act friendly but when we have questions about food she cannot answer them and has a real attitude, doesnt offer any response to help answer our questions other than, "im not sure".We order some drinks and sushi and our waitress asks for all of our I.D.'s even though its obvious we are all in our Fifty's (no 20 yr olds here) annoying!! She then goes to the bar and starts talking to the bartender again, while our drinks just sit there. Finally when we do get our drinks our glasses had spots and dried food on them, so now i look at our water cups to only notice the same thing, i ask for clean glasses only to get attitude from our waitress. Our food finally comes out 20 min. later, this place is not busy at all. The order is wrong, and the waitress only wants to argue that this is what we ordered. I ask the busser, who is observed flirting with the hostess along with the manager (Dave) if i could talk to the manager. The manager comes over, i tell him whats been going on, he wont even look at us as we speak and then he starts defending his waitress telling us how she is one of there better servers...Insane!!! He does promise to comp some of our cost, at this point i didnt care if the meal was free... The food was horrible the staff and management was even worse...AVOID THIS PLACE..OVER PRICED SUSHI, DIRTY DISHS, BAD SERVICE AND CONSTANT TRIPS TO THE BATHROOM AFTER EATING FOOD...CANKER SORE IN MOUTH AFTER LEAVING ESTABLISHMENT!!!
Ra-diculously Delicious. I've eaten sushi at many places, and RA is definitely in my Top 5 favorites! The Sushi was fresh and creatively presented, and there were numerous libations to compliment. Sexy environment and a great place to take a date! Never a dull moment!
The very best happy hour on the strip!!.
This is by far the best happy hour on the strip. They feature half off of several sushi, rolls, and appetizers. Also half off of many, possibly all, of their drinks. I highly recommend the viva las vegas roll. I guarantee it's the one roll you'll see coming out of the kitchen most often.
The only cons I can find are the prices outside of happy hour for SOME of the sushi and rolls. Also, there isn't much of a sake selection.
Sushi restaurant and lounge features Asian fusion dishes and sleek, club-like decor..
In Short
Washed in red by overhead lamps and stained woods, the sleek décor bears a hip Asian feel. Expect an Asian fusion menu and artful sushi, including specialty rolls like the Tootsy Maki, Lone Star Roll and lotus-root-topped Viva Las Vegas. Enjoy a specialty cocktail or happy hour in the lounge.
Worst Customer Service. I have to admit I kind of liked sushi there, but poor customer service ruined it for us. Sushi shef was nice, but the waitress that "surved" us shocked me big time by her behaviour (and believe me, it's not easy to shock me). The only thing she managed to bring us was water as she was not anywhere to be seen for the rest of our time there. When she brought us a bill, she circled the amount and wrote tips are not included on the bill. It was a bit odd... My boyfriend put 100 USD notes in the folder and gave it back to the waitress. She walked away for a sec (to look in the folder), came back and asked if he wanted change back. That was the last straw and we decided not to ever go back to this place. It's a pitty as I really liked their "Crazy Monkey". So if you like sushi, dont mind waitresses demanding tips from you without providing any service, go ahead and try it:))))
Hip Meets Fresh.
By far the best Sushi Bar "on the strip" when it comes to variety, price and quality
We have spent a lot of time on the bars up and down the strip, yet for the price you can't beat RA
Great concept and atmosphere
Definitely 5 STARS
