Good Enough For Us. I love watching Food Network and always enjoy Bobby Flay's shows. But the food reviews here are so mixed, I was a bit hesitating to spend my money even for lunch at Mesa Grill in Vegas. My sister and I were too tired to find a better place, we decided to try our first Bobby Flay food.

We were there for Sunday Brunch around noon after Christmas and we're seated right away. Our server was not bad but for some reason he had this weird energy and we didn't feel completely relaxed around him.

We wanted to have their fruit juice but we're told they were all out. All three juices (orange, grapefruit and carrot/orange)! That surprised me because as a restaurant by a very well known chef at this very popular hotel, I would expect them to have a decent inventory skill. We're very disappointed and ordered cactus pear iced tea instead. It wasn't bad but nothing special about it.

The warm bread basket had three different baked goodies. The first one on top was almost like a soft chewy cookie with raisins and nuts. I don't think it goes with any of their main dishes but as itself, it was very yummy and I wished I had that one after my lunch as a dessert. I can't describe the second mini soft pretzel-ish thingy but I can say they were good. And the bottom in the basket was a cornbread which was made with half yellow and half blue corn and had some corn, bell peppers and some chili pepper slices in it. It was delicious. Our waiter just dropped the basket off on our table but at the end of our brunch, I saw a different waiter at other table was explaining what they were to his guests. The ladies at our next table were chatting pretty loud so I couldn't hear a thing but wished our waiter did the same for us.

I ordered their honey glazed salmon and my sister ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich. My salmon was very thick but cooked perfectly and was very moist. The honey glaze and the black bean sauce were delicious and my sister loved her sandwich too. I had a bite and the pork was very tender and although we both agreed the fries which came with the sandwich were little salty side, but still tasty. Was it cheap? No, but whew, we didn't think we've wasted our money...

I don't think we can afford their dinner anytime soon after spending too much money in Vegas this time but we were very pleased with their brunch.

Great place. Not at all worthy of anything less then 5 stars. We just finished brunch here. What can I say. Wonderful service, food, atmosphere. The breads given at the start, the fries, that sandwich were all the best I've ever had. Very flavorful. I can safely say, it's the best food I had in the trip.

Not so much.... First, we made a reservation in person - they take your cc number and then if you don't show they charge you $50 PER PERSON for no show or party size change. Okay, a little ridiculous but we kept the reservation. We were seated promptly. Our server was great. He recommended a few dishes. We ordered apps - corn tamale and tuna/salmon tartar. Okay. Not great. Corn tamale was too sweet and void of any spice or flavor. For meals, we ordered the tortilla crusted salmon with capers, olives in a tomato broth. Best of the three meals. The other entrees were the Mango Chili Seared Tuna. Tasted like pine. The filet mignon was crusted in coffee. It was okay but frankly the sauce with the mushrooms was too salty. The goat cheese tamale we ordered as a side didn't have any goat cheese. Weird. We expected flavorful spicy dishes but seems the menu had turned more to a spanish/italian/mediterranean mess than what possibly would have been better executed as a nice Southwestern menu which is what Mr. Flay is ultimately known for. Just not a very good experience. Choose Sensi in the Bellagio instead. Much better dining experience there the next night.

worst italian I've ever had...interesting story. This had to be the worst experience and worst food I've ever had. I called two weeks in advance to make reservations for Valentines day. The restaurant opens at 5 but they only had reservations for 8:45. That seemed a bit weird but we made them anyway. The lady told me on the phone that they had a special Valentines day menu and you could choose from 5 different meals for 70 dollars per person. We made the reservations. We got there at 8:45 only to find most of the tables empty. Weird that we couldn't get in any earlier....Then the waitress came up. She was rude and hasty. She didn't even give us the Valentines day menu. She gave us the regular one, and said do we want wine. We asked if she could recommend some wine and she said, "Oh I don't know there all good." So my boyfriend chose a red and I chose a white. They were both horrible. The meatballs were terrible, really dry and the sauce tasted like spaghetti-O sauce. I ordered the penne pasta with vodka sauce. The past was still hard and the sauce was cold. He ordered Veal and it tasted like grocery store gravy was poured all over it. Then we listened as the waitress asked the table behind us if they would like a Valentines day menu and if they would like a wine expert to suggest some wine with dinner. why weren't we offered that service. We're both well mannered and well dressed people. Then the bill came out to 180 dollars! This place is horrible. I would recommend that it's shut down. If you want a good Italian meal go to Batistas little hole in the wall on Flammingo and Audrey.

Well worth the expense.. While in Las Vegas not too long ago, my wife, sister in-law, her husband and I, as well as 2 friends of my wife decided to give Mesa Grill a try. First off, GREAT service, very knowledgeable and friendly. Great menu, very simple yet descriptive and more than enough choices. I was a little disappointed in the beer selection, while there were great beers listed, it was a little slim for me - and they were all priced way to high. Everyone loved the starters we chose - Roasted Pumpkin Soup (4) and the Baby Romaine Salad (2). When the entrees arrived everyone was impressed but how beautiful and tasty they looked. My wife had the Sixteen Spice Duck Breast and while she couldn't have been happier with it, I thought the portion was a little on the small side. Now I understand that Duck, being on the fatty side carries a little more weight and a smaller portion will fill you up, but for the price I thought there could have been a little more. Now my dish on the other hand, Fire Roasted Veal Chop, was HUGE. The portion of Veal was incredible and even more delicious that I could have imagined. I was torn between the Veal Chop and the Grilled Lamb Porter House Chop but the waiter recommended the Veal over the Lamb. I would go back just for the Veal 100 times. My sister in-law had the New Mexican Spice Rubbed Pork Tenderloin and it was also delicious although it was ordered Medium but came out a little bit on the rare side. This was perfectly fine for me, but some like their Pork cooked a little more. We were all so impressed with the starters and entrees that we had to have desert. I ordered the Warm Cornbread Pudding even though I am not a fan of bread pudding. If all bread pudding was this good I would eat it all the time. My wife and her sister ordered the Apple Cider Cake and while it was good, I think it could have had a little more Bobby Flay attitude to it.

4 out of 5 only for some minor details, maybe I am just too nitpicky. Give it a try. A+

Poor Customer Service. We called to get reservations at 1:00 p.m. for 5:00 p.m. and were told there were no reservations "inside" until 5:45 p.m. We arrived at 5:30 and the place was almost empty which we found very annoying.

It's a lovely restaurant -- but the music was so loud, we couldn't hear each other!

Our waiter was experienced and knowledgeable, but very condescending. He took our order and brought us our cold bread. We were served our entrees and never saw the waiter again until he "shoved" the dessert menu in my face. He never asked if our meals were OK or we needed anything else.

The pasta was cooked very well - al dente. However, the sauce was nothing special. The meatballs were almost gristly -- texture was not appealing.

We wouldn't have minded paying the big prices, if the food and service were high quality. Disappointing and aggravating.

Loud rock music most sad! Why not Frank, Dino, Perry or Frankie V.?. I was only able to dine at the bar with a very limited menu. I had pasta and salad. The meal was promptly delivered. The bread that was served was rather good. The olive oil was very strong with a heavy after taste.

In Vegas one can do much better. I will go back one day and try lunch (if they do lunch). For a few dollars more I could have had a better Italian meal at many locations in Vegas. Rao`s at Caesars is not easy to find either. A sign or two to show the direction once in the casino would be nice. They will have it together. Rao`s is new. A little time and the correct music and it will be very difficult to get a table.

Expectations were too high for us I guess.... On vacation with our adult children and wanted to try Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill, after watching him on Food show we thought it would be something we wanted to try! The service was excellent, the menu choices looked like we would love the things we picked out..there were 4 of us, we each ordered something different. I ordered a grilled fish and my son ordered the same fish but as a Taco.... my fish was over done and tasted dry, the sauce reminded me of hoisin sauce with lime or something which I found not tasty at all, the risotto was just okay...I did not finish it. . My son's fish taco he said was just Okay. Mind you we have had authentic fish tacos in Ensenada Mexico and was much more delicous, my son's girlfriend ordered a Halibut dish and said her fish was also dry and disapointed, My husband ordered a Hamburger which he said was just okay he ordered it pink and it came well done. I felt disapointed and expected a wonderful meal and was so disapointed and did not even order dessert.

We travel all over the world often and almost always read reviews before going... this place is seem to be more hype. I would not go back to eat there again. ...Sorry Bobby ...we expected more... time to check the Quality at the restuarant again....

Sit at the bar, BEST bar tenders and service!!!!!!. We walked into the restaurant on either a sunday or monday afternoon not really expecting much but came out with the best dining experience we had ever had. Since we only had a party of three we decided to sit at the bar and were greeted by a very nice male bartender. The bartender over heard us talking about kir royals and recommended the kir royal on the drink menu. It was expensive but the tase of the rasberry liquor was worth every penny. While admiring the kir royal another bartender over heard us saying we liked chocolate and started concocting a delicious chocolate royal which he gave to us for free!! Not too long after, our order of the hamburger and fries as well as the tuna and salmon tartar came. The burger was EXCELLENT and the fries were the best all of us had ever tasted. Although the portions of tartar could have been larger the tuna was the best. We all walked away with the best dining experience we had ever had and although there have been some bad reviews, look forward to going back. Bobbly Flay really did an excellent job.

BEWARE FOOD BAD. Yep that's right. My wife and I ate there last month and both got sick. I ended up going to the emergency room. It ruined our vacation. The jerks at Caesar's did nothing about it. I will never go to Caesars Palace again.
