Editorial Review for Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay – by Ryan Slattery
In Short
Leatherette booths and a lunch counter with stools give this beef-and-bun joint a relaxed retro feel. Head right to the main menu and construct your sandwich. Choose from hamburgers made with heaps of meat choices including Black Angus or Kobe beef, vegetarian alternatives, or Colorado lamb, to name a few. Top with prosciutto, pan-seared foie gras, fried egg, sliced zucchini, smoked salmon or grilled lobster, then slap it between your favorite bread.

My friend and I were staying at the Luxor; I really wanted a hamburger, and we just happened to fall on this place since it was so close. We went at lunch time. We loved it! The service was good, we were able to watch basketball games (first weekend of march madness), and our food was great. I got the angus, he got the ridgefield beef. As a note, Kobe is now 16.50 without any toppings (as opposed to Angus which is 9.50). I added carmelized onions, avocado, and cheddar. It was outstanding. And we got the zucchini fries, which were to die for. We both plan to come back to this place. One tip if you want to watch sports: all the booths have their own individual tvs so if you are interested, request a booth. We were at a table and while we could see the tvs at the bar, it would have been even better to be at a booth.
Pros: Fun environment, tasty food
Cons: Long lines at night; lunch is shorter

More of a BAR, than a burger place. Don't waste your time unless you want food that is served in a Bar, as an after thought. This is NOT a Burger place. They sat me down & immediately wanted my drink order. They seemed very Suprised, that I wanted to order some food, also. The burger choices were not as exotic as advertized, unless you want weird stuff on your burger, like ketchup & mustard. True, they had 8 differant kinds of Cheeses, but when you spend $12 on a meal (excluding drinks) & the best part of the meal is spicy french fries - IT is NOT worth the money. It took a LONG time to get my order (45 minutes, NOT during a rush time, 9 pm) the bun was stale & the burger cold. Maybe if your DRUNK the burgers taste better? I was not interested enough to try any their desert burgers. I was very disappointed! I have had better food at Burger King.
Pros: Waitress was good looking
Cons: If you want Burgers, go to a Burger place. If you want to get WASTed, this is a good place to drink & watch sports
