inexpensive, clean...and no issues with child care

I have been a member of three different gyms in Vegas, two of the better known gyms in the area in Henderson, and I had this one as my quick around the corner stand by since my dues are less than $10 a month. This has ended up being my favored gym because it's clean, the equipment is always in working order and I don't have to fight off the dbags (whether that be the annoying meat head type, or the kind that usually staffs your every day average run of the mill gym) with a stick to get a good workout in. I have three children and have taken them all to the childcare at different times throughout the week and on the weekend and have NEVER experienced any problems what so ever. The girls staffing child care are younger teenage girls, but they have all been adorable, sweet and pay attention to my kids while in their care. Exactly the kind of kid you'd have watch your little ones for an hour or two at your own home. In fact I've asked a few of them if they do babysit outside the gym because I would trust them in my home with my kids! For me the convenience factor of being my neighborhood gym, the low dues, no contract, and non threatening environment are the perfect combination. I've worked with one of their trainers and found him to be very professional, knowledgable, and effective. Overall great value, great little gym, and I've dumped the other two larger gyms because I preferred this one!
Inexpensive and good

Don't know what the complaints are about in the other two reviews, but the place is not very expensive, has plenty of equipment that you don't have to wait for, and the staff leaves you alone. Creepy people at a minimum as well, which is always nice.
dont take your kids there

they have girls who work who talk about doing drugs or step on the kids backs and kick them. it is a very wild atmosphere. even if it is free i dont want my kids to be hit or taken care of people who are talking about doing drugs. if you are goning to take them take them mon-fri in mornings. the morning weekday staff has control of the kids and knows what they are doing.
Not worth the headache

I went to Fitness 19 in the very early morning with a friend to try it out since it is closer than the gym I am actually a member of. Since I am from out of town I thought they would be happy to let me try it out for a few visits to see if I wanted to sign up. They wanted to charge me $10 for a day or $40 for a month. I thought this gym was known for their low rates. Also, I had a coupon for a low monthly rate that says no enrollment fee, what the coupon failed to include was the $49 lock in fee. Which in retrospect isn't a huge amount, but I am paying dues for another gym and as of now I am not sure how long I will be in town so I was unsure if it would be worth it. My friend, also from out of town, had received a month pass for only $25 (a non-local rate) which I asked for. The answer I received was that as of the last few weeks they no longer offered the $25 rate because of rising gas prices. This is a gym right? Why would they raise their rates only for out of town guest passes due to gas prices? This morning staff seemed less than helpful and only interested in charging me as much as possible. I probably would have signed up after a few visits due to the convenience of the location. Now I would rather use that extra gas to drive to my gym and workout in a more friendly and helpful environment.
- Pros: Not very crowded in the early morning
- Cons: Morning staff
