In Short – This bustling French restaurant's close tables and neighborhood vibe inspire diners to exchange stories and clink wine glasses. Bright light fills the space, furnished with dark-wood booths and Parisian murals. Simple salads help save room for the oyster bar, which overflows with shellfish. Entrees stick to the bistro template: Roasted lamb in thyme jus, slabs of steak--and everything comes with fries. Health-conscious eaters will find that few menu items are spared a rich sauce.
Too "French" for me

Tables were covered with thick white paper. Bread was served directly onto the paper cover. Hope it was replaced after previous customers. You can get the same quality of paper cover at the Macaroni Grill. At least there they write on it so you know you got a new cover. No bread plates, you had to keep putting your bread onto the table cover. The bread was a fancy woven design so had lots of crust and not much bread inside. If you want salt or pepper you have to ask for it, no shakers on the table. The waiter comes over and grinds the salt like they do pepper. Guess it is unacceptable to salt and pepper your own food. Fish served with the head on. French style? My wife thought the menu was rather limited and really did not find anything she liked. My daughter did not like it at all as it did not come across as a "fancy" restaurant. She had steak and just barely was I able to stop her from asking for A-1 Sauce. She thought the steak was dry. The sound was pretty bad as there is little if any thought to sound control. Voices echo off the walls and if you want you can eavesdrop on conversations across the room.
Unless you are really into "authentic" French food, I would not recommend this place.
- Pros: Reasonable price
- Cons: Crude and loud.
Great Food, Service Lacking

We recently went to dinner at Bouchon ( April 09 ) on our Vagas trip. Loving food and fine dining, I was really looking forward to this one. The hostess was friendly and we were seated quickly. Everyone who served us was professional- with the exception of our waiter, who seemed to have last worked at a fast food joint. I ordered the field greens salad with warm goat cheese, my husband ordered the mussels. Our waiter managed to topple my salad in front of me, spilling leaves and goat cheese all over the table. He apologized in a way that made me think he was doing me a favor by taking back the salad, and promptly left our table littered with leaves and dressing ( nobody offered to clean up the mess ). I had to laugh to keep myself from saying something nasty. I ordered the salmon and my husband the lamb, portions were ok and the food was great, the salmon was flavorful and moist while the lamb was tender and cooked a perfect medium. Thumbs up to the chefs! But alas, our waiter neglected us, and it took standing up out of the chair for him to notice anything. The bad service climaxed at the end out our meal, when our waiter gave us the wrong receipt to fill out with how much we wanted to tip and sign off on the card. It took a better part of 20 minutes for him to pick up the check and then notice his mistake, forcing us to fill out a second silly form while already impatient to finally leave.
Leaving this poor service in the past, Bouchon has a great little bakery outpost on the casino floor in the Venetian. Croissants are flavorful and can be toasted, eclairs and desserts are to die for! The service at the bakery far exceeds that which is had in the restaurant.
- Pros: really awesome bakery near Venetian Casino
- Cons: Service that needs improvement
Best. Meal. Ever.

My friend and I went Jan. 09 during our Vegas trip. Both of us being foodies, Bouchon was on the top of our list of restaurants to go based on their reputation (thanks, Anthony Bourdain!). We were not disappointed. We went during brunch time. Both the hostess and our waiter were courteous and friendly. We ordered the Czar Nicholas Sturgeon to split, which was one of the specials. The waiter brought us homemade jam and butter. Our fish was well cooked and the flavors balanced perfectly with each other. My friend, who is not as cultured as I am when it comes to food said it was the best meal he's every had. I would have to agree that is one of the best meals I have ate at a restaurant. The whole experience was perfect.
Also at the Venetian is Bouchon Bakery. We went there several times to have something quick to grab and go. The pastries were excellent. Too bad the city we live does not have Thomas Keller's restaurant. We would come back again and again.
- Pros: Excellent food and service.
- Cons: Bit difficult to find in the hotel.
