Editorial Review for 24 Hour Fitness – by Saira Masood

In Short
With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.

I joined this gym figuring in Summerlin and being a 24 Hour 'Super' Sport Gym, it would not only be larger than the 24 Hour Sport Gym but cleaner, have better access to more classes and generally be a better Gym. They sure charge a lot more. What I found out is the classes are jammed and they canceled some of the more popular ones, the locker room is filthy, the floor hadn't been cleaned once during the 4 months I was a member and the steam and sauna were gross, some of the equipment was pretty beat and the price was extremely high. I went to some of the 24 Hour Sport Gyms which are less expensive but were cleaner & easier to get into classes. I brought this up to corporate and they gave me a free month. Suuuuurrrrre they did. I got charged just the same and nothing was done about lack of cleanliness. So I quit and joined the Las Vegas athletic club at a much lower price and no process/initiation fee and I could quit at anytime. The gym is clean, many more class options and better equipment.

Pros: None

Cons: Dirty, crowded, expensive
