Advanced Pain Care Cheers
by kcasmus at Citysearch
In 2001 I had many surgeries and painful procedures done on my spine. The nerves to my lower back and my legs were damaged and my pain was the most horrible thing I've ever lived through. I was on so many pain medicines that I can't remember the year 2005 My surgeon sent me to Dr. Fishell with the hope that he could help me. When my husband and I went there I got one of the most attentive office visits I have ever had. Dr. Fishell explained the difference between drug addiction and dependency. I no longer felt ashamed for our culture makes one feel that way if one takes medicine and it doesn't matter if you need it or not. I left that office that day and I was never ashamed again. AND Dr. Fishell and Dale Delaney have given me excellent and compassionate care until this day. I have never had a problem with any of the ladies, and I DO MEAN LADIES, in this office. My appointments were always made for MY CONVENIENCE in mind. One year my insurance was not going to pay and I gladly paid out of pocket to continue to see Dr. Fishell and his staff. AND when the insurance company turned around and did pay the ladies in billing just took care of all the paperwork and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I have never left a message that they did not get back to me in a very timely manner. I have never told Dale of a problem I was having when he did not listen with that compassion that everyone in this office has for this type of life I have to live. Dr. Fishell and Dale have been able to get me at a level of medication where my pain is bearable and I am not asleep in bed 22 hours a day. I know the pain will never go away. I am never going to play 18 holes of golf again or go bowling or even do the ordinary things like unload my dishwasher and not be in agony from bending over to load a dish in the bottom rack. I am 55 years old and 100% disabled and there have been really bad days when it seems like all my hope is gone. But this is my life. I take my medicine like I have been told to and I have tried to be a good patient for Dr. Fishell and his staff and never have tried to take advantage of having them feel like I DEMAND they take care of me. It is not a right, but it is a PRIVILEGE AND HONOR to have people like Dr. Fishell, Dale, Anita,Linda, Annette, and everyone else there take care of you as a person and a patient. You never feel like a dirty junkie the world wants to class you as. I actually had a drug store tell me they didn't stock Methadone to treat "you people" with. I only hope this lady, and I use the term casually in her instance, never has to live with chronic pain...with pain so bad that if it isn't treated it can put you in the hospital in ICU for 7 days with a blood sugar reading in the 900's when you are diabetic and you are about to die and you get last rites from your priest...this was how I welcomed in New Years Eve of 2006 So YES I know Dr. Fishell saved my life in helping me reduce my drugs and in finding the right combination that as I said makes life bearable. I can get up each day. I may not do to much, but I am back in the world again. And it's not always such a bad place to be. So cheers to Advanced Pain Care...there is no one any better in this town that I know of.
Thank u

I've had a great experience finally getting help with pain staff very nice but not very understanding. Returning phone calls need some working on.
They will throw you away.."let you go"

I was a patient of Dr. Dale for years. He was and I suppose still is a wonderful Dr. He treats his patients like human beings with pain. He is very empathetic.
The back office "let me go" They gave me a reason and the reason was not true. So I warn you all to start looking for another Dr. you can go to when they cast you and your troubles to the wind. It will happen. For that I can't forgive them.
- Pros: I was treated great for years, then bam I was "let go"
- Cons: The office staff is horrible, something is wrong
Finally, a doctor who cares?

I have never had a problem with this office except having my calls returned and the office staff is chilly at best. The doctors, however are fantastic. After going to Dr. Fishell and his P.A. Dale, I have been treated like a human being and not a junkie. That is until this afternoon. I got a call from thier office informing me that I would not be extended the courteousy of another appointment. WHAT??? Out of the blue, having Dale describe me as the perfect patient, with never a clue that there was even a hint of a problem. I have to say, I feel sick at the stomach and in shock. They said the reason was too many early refill requests. The only time I have asked for an earlier time is say, 8/5 changed to 8/4 so I could pick it up on my day off. I work very early, 4 a.m. and long, 12-14 hours most days. It makes it impossible to pick it up before work and after I need to go lay on some ice because my back is through. The last thing I want to do is wait for 1/2 hour to have a presciption filled. I always asked "If it's not a problem, could you date it for a day I'm off and like I said, it is usually a difference of one day. My insurance won't fill it early so what are they talking about??? Hopefully, this is a mix-up. I will post what ultimately happens. This should never happen to someone like this and no person should ever have to feel as shook up as I do now.
- Pros: Doctors and P.A.'s are fantastic, I think.
- Cons: Staff is cold, unfeeling and never return calls or actually tell the Dr. something you ask them to.
Great care and friendly staff

I have been a patient of Advanced Paincare for about 5 years. I was referred to them after being released from my orthopedic surgeon. I have had two spine fusions resulting in chronic pain in my back and neck all thanks to a drunk driver hitting me several years ago. Yes, I only saw Dr. Fishell on my first visit but I can only say wonderful things about everyone in this office. My P.A. - Dale Delaney could not be more concerned about my care. The girls at the front desk have always been friendly and nice. Annette has always been pleasant. While the waiting room does not have a TV like many doctor offices, the waiting time is so short you don't need a TV in there. The exam rooms are nicely decorated and it's not hard to find a parking space outside the building. Dale and the staff have worked hard with my insurance companies to make sure I receive the necessary treatment for my pain - some of the procedures have been expensive. I would highly recommend these health professionals to anyone with chronic pain or necessary treatment after surgery.
- Pros: Friendly staff
- Cons: None
