Advanced Pain Care Cheers. In 2001 I had many surgeries and painful procedures done on my spine. The nerves to my lower back and my legs were damaged and my pain was the most horrible thing I've ever lived through. I was on so many pain medicines that I can't remember the year 2005 My surgeon sent me to Dr. Fishell with the hope that he could help me. When my husband and I went there I got one of the most attentive office visits I have ever had. Dr. Fishell explained the difference between drug addiction and dependency. I no longer felt ashamed for our culture makes one feel that way if one takes medicine and it doesn't matter if you need it or not. I left that office that day and I was never ashamed again. AND Dr. Fishell and Dale Delaney have given me excellent and compassionate care until this day. I have never had a problem with any of the ladies, and I DO MEAN LADIES, in this office. My appointments were always made for MY CONVENIENCE in mind. One year my insurance was not going to pay and I gladly paid out of pocket to continue to see Dr. Fishell and his staff. AND when the insurance company turned around and did pay the ladies in billing just took care of all the paperwork and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I have never left a message that they did not get back to me in a very timely manner. I have never told Dale of a problem I was having when he did not listen with that compassion that everyone in this office has for this type of life I have to live. Dr. Fishell and Dale have been able to get me at a level of medication where my pain is bearable and I am not asleep in bed 22 hours a day. I know the pain will never go away. I am never going to play 18 holes of golf again or go bowling or even do the ordinary things like unload my dishwasher and not be in agony from bending over to load a dish in the bottom rack. I am 55 years old and 100% disabled and there have been really bad days when it seems like all my hope is gone. But this is my life. I take my medicine like I have been told to and I have tried to be a good patient for Dr. Fishell and his staff and never have tried to take advantage of having them feel like I DEMAND they take care of me. It is not a right, but it is a PRIVILEGE AND HONOR to have people like Dr. Fishell, Dale, Anita,Linda, Annette, and everyone else there take care of you as a person and a patient. You never feel like a dirty junkie the world wants to class you as. I actually had a drug store tell me they didn't stock Methadone to treat "you people" with. I only hope this lady, and I use the term casually in her instance, never has to live with chronic pain...with pain so bad that if it isn't treated it can put you in the hospital in ICU for 7 days with a blood sugar reading in the 900's when you are diabetic and you are about to die and you get last rites from your priest...this was how I welcomed in New Years Eve of 2006 So YES I know Dr. Fishell saved my life in helping me reduce my drugs and in finding the right combination that as I said makes life bearable. I can get up each day. I may not do to much, but I am back in the world again. And it's not always such a bad place to be. So cheers to Advanced Pain Care...there is no one any better in this town that I know of.
Thank u. I've had a great experience finally getting help with pain staff very nice but not very understanding. Returning phone calls need some working on.
They will throw you away.."let you go".
I was a patient of Dr. Dale for years. He was and I suppose still is a wonderful Dr. He treats his patients like human beings with pain. He is very empathetic.
The back office "let me go" They gave me a reason and the reason was not true. So I warn you all to start looking for another Dr. you can go to when they cast you and your troubles to the wind. It will happen. For that I can't forgive them.
Finally, a doctor who cares?. I have never had a problem with this office except having my calls returned and the office staff is chilly at best. The doctors, however are fantastic. After going to Dr. Fishell and his P.A. Dale, I have been treated like a human being and not a junkie. That is until this afternoon. I got a call from thier office informing me that I would not be extended the courteousy of another appointment. WHAT??? Out of the blue, having Dale describe me as the perfect patient, with never a clue that there was even a hint of a problem. I have to say, I feel sick at the stomach and in shock. They said the reason was too many early refill requests. The only time I have asked for an earlier time is say, 8/5 changed to 8/4 so I could pick it up on my day off. I work very early, 4 a.m. and long, 12-14 hours most days. It makes it impossible to pick it up before work and after I need to go lay on some ice because my back is through. The last thing I want to do is wait for 1/2 hour to have a presciption filled. I always asked "If it's not a problem, could you date it for a day I'm off and like I said, it is usually a difference of one day. My insurance won't fill it early so what are they talking about??? Hopefully, this is a mix-up. I will post what ultimately happens. This should never happen to someone like this and no person should ever have to feel as shook up as I do now.
Great care and friendly staff. I have been a patient of Advanced Paincare for about 5 years. I was referred to them after being released from my orthopedic surgeon. I have had two spine fusions resulting in chronic pain in my back and neck all thanks to a drunk driver hitting me several years ago. Yes, I only saw Dr. Fishell on my first visit but I can only say wonderful things about everyone in this office. My P.A. - Dale Delaney could not be more concerned about my care. The girls at the front desk have always been friendly and nice. Annette has always been pleasant. While the waiting room does not have a TV like many doctor offices, the waiting time is so short you don't need a TV in there. The exam rooms are nicely decorated and it's not hard to find a parking space outside the building. Dale and the staff have worked hard with my insurance companies to make sure I receive the necessary treatment for my pain - some of the procedures have been expensive. I would highly recommend these health professionals to anyone with chronic pain or necessary treatment after surgery.
Advanced Pain Care. Dr. Fishell is an awesome doctor. I was seen initially for an interview appointment, and even after seeing all of the major surgeries, accidents and deformities that I have and still have, he still accepted me as a patient. Chris is an excellent PA!! Tey show such passion and care in their work. When just about no other medical practice wanted to treat me because of my pre-existing conditions, the doctors at Advanced pain care came to my rescue!! Thank You from the bottom of my heart!!
Fantastic Doctors & PA - Office Staff could use some manners.
After a year and a half of too much pain to even perform the simplist of daily tasks insurance finally "approved" my visit to Advanced Paincare. Two minutes into my appointment I was in tears... of relief. Finally someone was not saying "I don't know". They were saying "You shouldn't have to live like this. I don't know, YET, but we're going to help you."
And they have. I am through with doctors who do nothing but push more narcotics on me but don't do anything to find the root of the problem. Not only did this office quickly find and identify the problems but gave me several options for correcting and listen to me when I say what I can and cannot live with.
While I agree the staff in the front office needs some serious help and trying to get anything done with the "girls on the phone" is next to IMPOSSIBLE I still refuse to leave this clinic. The Dr. Fischell, the nurses and the PA's have all been terrific. Approachable, easy to talk to and helpful.
I do wish they would make DRASTIC changes to their front desk but to I will tolerate the mindless, rude idiots there to see these doctors and PA's. Have patience... bully your way past that front desk if you must but I wouldn't trust it took me two years to find this place and there is nothing in town even close to these standards.
Dr. Fishell: Advanced Pain Care. I have been active in the medical community for almost 20 years and have very strong feelings about pain management...no one needs to suffer from pain and the stigma that comes along with pain management only serves to hurt people more. Dr. Fishell was recommended to me for pain management by my neurosurgeon...Dr. Forage, who by the way is fabulous...I met with Dr. Fishell first and he took one of the most comprehensive physical histories that I can recall. Not only did he address the issue that I came in with but also one that I had been having to deal with for years...migraines. He and his PA, Chris...love him...have turned my life around. In discussing treatment options and preferences, my concerns are addressed and my choices respected. I have to agree with the other comments regarding the office staff, medical assistants, and nurses though. I have been treated very differenlty by them...very chilly, arrogant, and dismissive. I have made multiple calls to the office and have never once gotten someone on the phone and have had to go by the office a number of times because my calls were never returned...oh, they said they did, but funny, no record on my caller ID. I have tried to break the ice by being super nice with attempts at humor but have even heard them talking about me through a closed door after I was placed in an exam room. I never said anything to the PA or Dr. Fishell for fear of being treated even worse by the staff. If it wasn't for the fact that Chris and Dr. Fishell have indeed changed my life, I would not ever go back. I trust them emplicitly. Have to weigh the good against the bad and so far "good" wins. Good doctors and good PA's are much more important and harder to find...So, if you feel like you can get past the catty women in the front office, Dr. Fishell and his PA's are worth it.
Care is their middle name.. I would really like to recommend Dr. Fishell's office. I met him on my first visit and he performed my epidurals. I have been meeting with his very competent PA's since and am always very happy with the treatments I receive. The current one assigned to me, Chris is always well aware of my condition, I never feel like I need to revisit my symptoms with him. The only minus is the lack of overall warmth from the office staff. Not that they are cold, but they seem disinterested at the worst, possibly people shy at best. Nothing a really good customer service class wouldn't improve. Overall, all I can say is thanks for making me feel like someone cares and I'm not crazy.
Worst Pain Management Ofiices In The Valley. You see Dr. Fishell for the 1st visit then all other visits his PA.His PA is Great and so was his Nurse. The staff and the Office Manager Have to be the most inadequte staff I have seen in a doctors office. Guess who the office manager is Linda Fishell. After her and her staff overcharged me and I believe several other patients the same amount..Tried to hold us Hostage in this room she took us back to after I had already verified with phone calls to both insurances that I owed nothing. Even with their own statement it showed I owed nothing. After billing medicare no matter what's left over they can only bill you the amount in the box that says you owe this amout. They kept telling me I did not know what I was talking about. The billing Manager was new and Linda started yelling at me saying I have no right bringing that in the conversation. It had everything to do with it.So I took my cell called medicare asked to speak to the supervisor I had before when she got on the phone I told her I had the billing & office manager here and asked if she would explain the summary to one of them she said sure I handed the phone out the billing manager took it and said "we figured it out" & hung up on her. Then trying to blame it on my primary which I had called before we went in the back and confirmed They owe nothing anything else goes to medicare. I told Linda that and said I had enough she took a step in front of the door and put her hand on the Lever handle wanting to continue I told her to move she would not so since it was a lever handle I was able to swat at the Lever to make the door open.Told the nurse to tell the PA I would not be coming back. They did not refund my 15 credit card charge so I had to call the credit card co. to get my money back. 2 weeks later Linda called me to say she& her husband"Dr. Fishell" thought it would be better if I went elswhere.1.I Already told her @ last visit..2. New Dr. Requested my records
