THEhotel is the perfect compliment to our already impressive property. At 43 stories, it rises high above the Las Vegas Strip. Inside, find 1,117 suites with separate living and sleeping areas, hospitable meeting places and swank hotspots all combined to make an airy, cosmopolitan haven for those who appreciate life's finer things.
Complimenting the 21 world-class restaurants at Mandalay Bay, THEhotel also offers the convenience of a 24-hour cafe, a coffee bar, a relaxing lounge, and Mix--a cutting-edge restaurant and lounge high atop THEhotel.
If you're unconcerned with being in the middle of the Strip action, hole up at this luxurious hotel complex and relax. Suites are roomy and posh and there's no casino on the ground floor (which means no plumes of smoke every time you exit the elevator), plus you've got Mandalay's 11-acre pool, new Daylight day club and Light nightclub, and there are more celebrity chef restaurants than you can shake a fork at (from Hubert Keller's Fleur to Michael Mina's Stripsteak).
Just spent a week here. Reservation was the Mandalay Bay Resort. Sent us to THEhotel instead. Had to walk through casino with all our luggage with no help from staff and the directions from Registration Staff half-hearted at best.
Room was ok but the bathroom was terrible with only one small sink area for two people for a week.
Access to pool area is terrible with again needing to walk through casino to get access.
Have stayed at Mandalay Bay facility several times and always had great experience but THEhotel is NOT a good experience at all.
We stayed here for 4 days. Everything was great. Our room had a wonderful view, the Bathhouse spa was relaxing and the services I received (oxygen facial and deep tissue massage) were top notch. We had breakfast each morning in The Cafe. Wonderful food and good service. I highly recommend.
what happens in vegas? burglary on the 38th floor!!!! – My husband and I were in vegas over the weekend for my brother's wedding. While we were out, our room was burglarized. Although there was no sign of any forced entry, my wedding ring, macbook pro, gold hoop earrings, perfume, cologne, and a small travel bag was stolen from the room. The theief also took the laptop charger, but left everything else in the room including a wrapped wedding gift and credit cards.
We notified the front desk and security about the incident. After a long wait, security finally arrived and asked me to write down the value of all the items taken from the room and a detailed statement.
Security and front desk were not very helpful or supportive. They insisted that things like this happen all the time and that many times guests would leave their doors unlocked (intentionally or unintentionally) or that guests invite strangers into their rooms who end up stealing from them.
Security also informed us that there are no security cameras on the guest floors only in the lobby floor, casino, and elevators, but they walk through the guest floors every 1 to 2 hours and they push guest rooms doors to insure they are locked. If the door is unlocked, they enter the room to see if everything is alright.
Surprisingly, even before the investigation has started, RISK MANAGEMENT already told me that the hotel is not liable for any theft, loss, or damage of any property brought by a guest upon the hotel. They also failed to mention previous burglary that have occurred a few weeks prior to our check in.
I believe guests have a right to be informed of previous burglaries in order to take extra precaution for our belongings and safety. Mandalay Bay prides themselves with sophistication and service, but we were never-- not once offered anytype of accomodation for our misfortune or anytype of apology or sympathy from the front desk staff or security. All they can say is that bad things happen that are beyond their control.
Front desk did not even tell us that they have a in house safe or that they are not reliable for any theft that occurrs on the property nor did we see any visible sign that can be easily read and placed in a conspicuous area.
I have stayed at less luxurious hotels such as circus circus in las vegas and ohana west in honolulu, and I never felt safer. There are guards making sure you are a guest in the hotel, always asking questions, and you need your card key to access the elevator.
If you ever plan a trip to vegas, read all the reviews and remember that you cannot rely on hotel staff for anything. TheHotel does not care about your safety or your concerns. Insure your valuables, backup your files, precious photos, and videos, download a tracking app for your macbook, and try not to look rich at all costs! You never know who will be watching and following you around! TheHotel does not have anyway of knowing who entered your room other than reviewing the door logs.
The doors themselves do not signal security that it has been left open. Only Wynn, Tropicana, Mandalay Bay Resort have TimeLox AM with ZigBee that can report doors left open to security.
Stay the hell aware from this hotel – I came to vegas for a week, decided to stay at the paris las vegas hotel for the weekend and then transfer over to "THE Hotel" at Mandalay Bay. I was traveling for a conference.
At the end of the night I went back up to my room and ordered room service (Breakfast at 10pm or so). I went to sleep with the tv on, my cell phone plugged into my laptop juicing up on the bed next to me. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked over to find that my cell phone and the usb cable were laying on the bed next to me with the laptop power cord still plugged into the wall.
I got up, and started looking around on the floor, as to find that perhaps i knocked it off the bed. Odd considering how the cables were just sitting on the bed the same distances where the laptop would be.
As I tore my room upside down, I noticed that the backpack I received from the convention center was also missing. I immediately called security to file a report. Somebody showed up at my room shortly after and when i went to open the door, it opened with me pulling on the handle without pushing the handle downward (it's a heavy door). I explained everything to him, but he handed me a piece of paper and told me to start writing. I wrote everything I had remembered and the worth of my laptop.
He left, I looked around for my external USB thumb drives, SSDs, HDDs, and enclosures. Gone too.
I finally decided to call LVPD following the incident and security visit, after calling my boss and contacting somebody at my office to disable my work accounts.
The officer told me that there was already another report identical to mine, under the same circumstances, on another floor in the hotel (even the same laptop Brand!). Thats when I knew beyond a doubt that somebody had come into my room while I was asleep, took my laptop, my backpack and everything inside.
I was surprised that they didn't take any of the bubbly or white wines that i took out of the frige to fit the coffe in.
I talked to guest relations, several security and nobody was willing to offer an explanation or tell me WHY THEY DONT have security cameras in their HALLWAYS!!
I lost around $4500 worth of equipment from my hotel room, and somebody CAME INTO MY ROOM while I was ASLEEP. Very creepy. I am freaked out, I fell asleep in my bathrobe and basically naked on top of the covers.
do not stay here. I am going to start a website and let everybody know that they should look elsewhere in vegas if safety and valuables are of personal conern. I can't stop thinking about what would of happened to me if I woke up in the middle of it all. Absolutely terrifying experience at this hotel. ZERO STARS, ZERO CLASS from the STAFF.
Customer Service/Risk Mgmt - Terrible – We stayed at TheHotel and checked out on Nov 22/10 at 6 am due to an early flight. In my tiredness I left behind all my shopping in one big bag. I called the next day to have it shipped and it took a month, the bag arrived with most of the stuff missing. They said a report was filed but Risk Mgmt won't return my calls - even the managers don't return calls. The one time I got through I was basically told they didn't believe me and there was nothing they could/would do. Do not risk staying here. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.
DO NOT STAY HERE!! – My girlfriend and I just left “The Hotel” because our room got broken into last night and we were robbed. My girlfriend was tired so she decided to go to sleep early. I decided to go to the bar for a drink. Someone was able to enter our room while my girlfriend was sleeping and started going through her purse. She woke up during the robbery and thought it was me so she rolled over and started to go back to sleep. When robber heard her roll over in bed he or she dropped to the floor and crawled to the opposite end of the room. My girlfriend lied there paralyzed with fear as she now knew it was not me. All my girlfriends cash was stolen. We reported the situation to the front desk they acted like it was no big deal and then we were directed to “risk management”. What a joke!!!!! They offered no answers or solutions. You would think they have cameras being a 4 star hotel in Vegas. I am a meeting planner and travel all over the country during the year working with hotel staff at various locations. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had. I researched the issue on the internet and there are so many others out there who have been robbed at the Mandalay bay and The Hotel. DO NOT SAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!
Major Security issues - rooms are being burglarized – For those Las Vegas lovers, stay away from THEhotel. Regardless of the deals you might get there, being burglarized will definitely ruin your stay.
I was there recently and had my $10, 000 ring stolen from my purse, which was inside my closed luggage. When I called the front desk, manager, risk management, I was blamed for not using the safe. I only went to the pool for a couple of hours. I was not anticipating to be violated - to have a stranger break into my room, go through my belongings and steal my wedding ring.
They also implied that I misplaced my ring. The staff's attitude was indifferent and atrocious to say the list.
They could have cared less that I had my ring stolen from their room. Did not even ask me to describe the ring, or to give them any other details (when it happened, etc). I know that customer service is non-existant these days - after all they don't pay the staff enough to care. Instead they hire any criminal that will work for minimum wage. There is not security in this place.
The only security guard I was more interested in the food area than protecting the paying guests.
They consider themselves a luxury hotel. What good is a nice looking hotel if the employees are theives, unprofessional and uncaring? I want my ring back at the end of your so called "investigation". By the way, their investigation takes a week. What a joke!!! By now my ring has exchanged many hands. Some pawn owner is happy with the profit he made on his buy.
By the way, I'm not the only person with this experience at THEhotel.
THE Hotel is a winner – THE Hotel has some of the nicest guest rooms in town and are competitively priced. I find a lower standard of customer service than expected. Not nearly as good as Four Seasons but not as expensive either
Good customer service and comfortable rooms – 7 of my friends and I this past weekend went to Las Vegas (it was my first time). We knew we wanted to stay at a hotel that was aimed toward our generation (early to mid 20s). The palms and hardrock were very expensive (it was labor day weekend FYI). For 3 nights, it came out to an average of 309 a night per room, which I think its quite inexpensive. We stayed in THEsuite with a living room and 2 bed bedroom. Very comfortable beds and bathrobe. Bathroom was VERY impressive with SUNKEN tub, stand up shower, separate toilet and huge sink area. The room was a 5/5 without a doubt. The only bad part is the hotel's entrance is underground which was alittle odd and THEHotel is so far from the pool, easily a 15 minute walk. Room service took on average about 40 minutes which was expected, but everything was still pipping hot when it came.
The best restaurant I ate in was in the little mall between the Mandalay Bay and the luxor called Burger Bar. Probably the best burgers ever so thats a place to stop and eat.
Next time I visit Vegas ill try to stay somewhere else not because I didnt like the Mandalay Bay but because I want to experience more of Las Vegas.
Had a great stay at THE HOTEL – When my friends and I first got to THE HOTEL, we were really happy to see that the lobby wasn't overly busy but meanwhile the Mandalay Bay casino and several of the other resorts were in easy walking distance. The staff got us checked in right away and the room was great. The room was very hip and modern: TVs, beds, and bathrooms were awesome and there was plenty of space. When we got to the room we found that the TV remote wasn't working so I informed the front desk and they had a new remote for us in minutes. Overall, I'd recommend THE HOTEL to anyone visiting Vegas.
