There are too many other places in Vegas. to hang out at the Freaking Frog. They have many beers available, but so do a lot of other places, and the atmosphere is so much better anywhere else. The bartenders are not very attentive at all. I have given this place many chances. My friends insisted that we meet there on many occasions, and I always reluctantly went. Ever since the "music director/supervisor" guy was rude to my friends when they played there, I have written it off completely. He acted like a real meanie to them, and believe me, they are not high maintenance musicians whatsoever. I won't be going back for that reason, and simply because the bartenders take forever, or blow you off altogether to flirt with a customer. But if you are going for the beer, it is a good reason to go, and the jazz shows are often very good also.

The Freakin' Frog: Keeping Jazz Alive in Vegas. Found a really happening joint across from UNLV on Maryland Parkway. I read a listing in the RJ that The Freakin' frog has Jazz on Tuesday nights, so we stopped by. It was actually a jazz jam, and musicians from all over Las Vegas were invited to join in. The musicians andf singers that participated were amazing. There were performers from the strip enjoying the music - I even got a chance to speak with a woman who appears in Phantom of the Opera! One of the singers that improvised with the band is a singer/dancer with Barry Manilow's show! The music was incredible, and we had such a good time - we've been back 4 Tuesdays in a row! I understand the venue, which is called Freakin' Music, is including more and more jazz into their music schedule. We've seen Blu7 and a group called Universal Soul Orchestra there as well. All the shows are free, and they have great bar food and a HUGE beer selection. Jazz lovers, this is a great place to hang out!

Mark Martin is the best I've heard in a L O N G time-keep h. I attended the Oct. 31st show w/Mark Martin & Co.-excellant music and the lead singer, Mark Martin has a great voice in variation of song, VERY entertaining! I hope you have him back often!

College students grab pub grub and down brews at this popular UNLV spot.. IN SHORT
Beer, beer and more beer. The selection of brews at the Frog is well, freakin' ridiculous. This university hangout has the one of the largest collections of brews to choose from this side of the Mississippi with more than 750 different bottles and 15 ever-changing taps. Movies often play on the televisions and live music, poetry readings and other events add an artsy vibe to the joint. The food is run-of-the-mill pub grub.

Go figure: A real PUB in Las Vegas. The Freakin Frog provides the sort of PUB experience seldom seen in Las Vegas - the chance to have real conversation with other pub crawlers and the person behind "the stick" (THE BARTENDER). This is the sort of Bar experience you can get in NYC's East Village: Real talk about real s***. What you won't find are a bunch of fools in a Vulcan Mind Meld with with a Video Poker machine. The Freakin Frog doesnt have any - thank gawd. Thus the Bar chat and a chance to mix with the folks around you.

And oh yeah - lots of beer too!!

User review by cvfugitive. This looks like a hole in the wall. but I don't care as long as they have good food, good beer & it is clean. (It was) The owner talked to us for probably 45 minutes. I was hoping to get to meet Adam after reading about him. He is full of information and more than happy to show us the beer cooler & new whiskey lounge. My husband likes spicey food and LOVED this place. The Prosciutto Bomb a Sicilian cherry pepper stuffed with prosciutto & wrapped with provolone cheese & marinated Wow! The Chili is hot and my husband said it was the best he ever had. It is amazing the work that Adam puts into his food, beer, & business. I had the Teriyaki Burger and it was very good. I highly recommend this place for just doing a little chillin in the afternoon.

Beer Drinkers Welcome!. Great place to unwind and just chill out. This place has been refered to as an Intellectual Bar. In other words... realitively calm atmosphere and always someone to have an intelligent conversation with. The place is small... but seems to be perfect for the croud.

The beer menu is larger than most restraunts complete food menus. I have only experienced them saying 'No' twice when asked if they have something. So if you have a taste for something that is not common... come here and give it a try... they are likely to have it.
