Atmosphere rules at this French New Orleans-themed spot that serves traditional American fare.. In Short
Decorated like a French country bistro with jazzy New Orleans overtones, Mimi's Café was named after a lost love of Arthur Simms, who started the restaurant in 1978 in Anaheim, Calif., with his family. The ambience could only be upstaged by the menu filled with traditional American favorites. Breakfast includes omelets, waffles, muffins and fresh-squeezed juices, while lunch and dinner feature comfort-food classics like pot pie and pot roast, deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pastas, steaks and salads.

If you are a minority dont go here. I am white and have gone to this restaurant about 3 times and experienced wonderful customer service and the food was awesome. I went once with my husband that is hispanic and have never gone again. This was years ago and still it tops my list for worst service. There was no line to be seated but as more white people entered, they got seated first. When we were seated, it took over 30 minutes to get DRINKS ordered and by this time, those who came after us were already eating their meal, post appetizer. The waitress was so rude. Me and my husband are middle upper class and this is obvious by our appearance, yet as his skin was a little too dark, we were treated so horribly.

You'll never leave hungry!. Mimi's has some of the best comfort food in town as well as some creative dishes. There is something to appeal to every appetite from the soups and salads to burgers, sandwiches and full dinners. The prices are very reasonable, especially since many of the dishes are enough for two meals. If you want dessert - and who doesn't - DEFINITELY have 1/2 of your order boxed in advance. The desserts are easily split among several people, too.
