The Best for First Friday Munchies.
My friends and I went to Tinoco's a few weeks ago after the First Friday Festivities came to an end. It was way past their posted closing time but it was no problem to get seated anyway. They were very busy but Veronica our server was very attentive and never tried to hurry us at all. We each ordered an entree and split two bottles of wine from the mostly Italian and Californian wine list. Soups and Salads were gratis with our entrees so I totally disagree with the previous post which says the prices are inflated. The same group had dinner at a steakhouse in the Venetian last week and we spent over $800 for four people. By contrast Tinoco's prices are downright cheap. I had the cilantro linguine with jalape?o diavolo shrimp and I would order it again. Also the lobster bisque is the best anyone at the table had ever tasted.
The restaurant is in the Arts Factory so it has an industrial warehouse vibe going with its brick walls and exposed ductwork. Modern Art everywhere you look. Reminds me of someplace in the Meatpacking district in NYC. I had a great time and wouldn't consider trying to go anywhere else after First Fridays. Highly Recommend
Service Needs Improvement.
We visited Tinoco's on First Friday, the downtown arts festival in Vegas which is partially within the same building as Tinoco's. This is the second time we have visited. We thought that they'd be on their best behavior for such an event centered around the restaurant but we were unimpressed by the food and service. The food is average at slightly inflated prices. The service was quite poor in that we sat for longer than customers should after first sitting down and then a waitress came over and asked if we had been helped yet. No service zones in a restaurant attempting to be upscale? After that things seemed to go smoothly until our dinner plates were taken away and a woman dropped the check off at our table. No offer of dessert or coffee. Nothing. When we asked about dessert the woman who dropped off the check took the check back and left to find the waitress who then rattled off four desserts (no menu) and didn't ask if we'd like coffee or anything else. Of course we just requested the check back and left a ten percent tip. Gratuity is to ensure prompt acceptable service. This definitely was not either.
The first time we visited over a year ago wasn't much better. We won't be visiting again. Vegas has too many above average restaurants to settle for this below average experience.

A real Italian chef with a real Italian accent who cooks really great Italian food is what patrons can expect to find at Tinoco's Bistro. There used to be other locations, but everything has been centralized at this bistro. This is the place where people can find escolar, seared salmon and Dungeness crabcakes. All this upscale quality comes at very reasonable prices at lunch and dinner time.
Excellent meal!. We brought 11 people here for dinner 10/28/05. EVERYONE was impressed with the food. Wine was very reasonable. Our server was a little difficult to understand at times, but she was very attentive. Interesting art on the walls. Very comfortable & relaxed atmosphere. We were surprised at how nice the inside of the restaurant was after seeing the exterior. Don't judge this book by its cover!
An intriguing little spot. A little tricky to find your way into the restaurant but its definitely worth it. Just off the arts district building, it's a tiny place with seating for probably 40 people, but it has a very artsy, cozy feeling. Had the most distinct ambience of any Vegas restaurant Ive been to. It was empty the night we came. The booth had pillows tossed around and a table in the shape of a paint palette. The menu looked excellent and the dishes we tried were both awesome. Not just your typical straightforward pasta with chicken and sauce, there were several ingredients that really brought things up a notch. The only person there was the chef so he took our orders directly and served our food. He didn't have the charming social skills of a good waiter, but he definitely can cook.
Sauces To Die For. Apprehension regarding the location soon disappears once you step in the door. Seemingly Italian cuisine by it's decor and menu, one soon learns this quaint establishment's raison de etre is actually based on Chef Tinoco's Spanish and Portugese origins. With a firm grasp of the bistro basics and a stylish verve rivaling some of the best 4 star establishments, the culinary results are simply delectable --- from ambrosial entree sauces accompanying the perfectly cooked meats and seafood to the heavenly desserts. And the gods must be smiling down on us, for location number two has recently opened! Please the gods and your palate, visit Tonocos when in the big LV.
Great See Food.
My wife and I visited Tinoco's Bistro on East Charleston and were simply delighted with the entire experience.
The entrees were creative and delicious. The service was top notch. We recommend going for dinner when there is less of a crowd.
The salmon, mahi mahi, and sea bass were all fresh and prepared just right, not overdone, but not raw either.
All in all, when in Las Vegas, we highly recommend Tinoco's Bistro, which is just a few minutes from the Strip and Downtown.
