Shame Shame Shame on you Hikari. I have
never ever been this upset at a business until i stepped into this one. I would never ever set foot into this business again. My family and i total of 7 paying adults came in for the ALL YOU CAN EAT. My youngest daughter is only 2 years old which is the 8th person and only likes to eat a couple of California rolls which i did not think it was a problem to just give her some off of ours from the all you can eat order we are getting. When ordering the server taking our order said it was not OK to do that but if she ordered something from the kids meal then she can and so we did what she had told us. We ordered something off the kids meal which was chicken and rice for over $8 which my daughter did not like at all and started eating a little of our California rolls which i mean just a couple of pieces of our food which we where told it was OK by our server. Our server comes back to us looking like she made the biggest mistake ever goes and tells us that her lady manager said to her we cant do that and for her to tell us that our 2 year old daughter can not eat off of our plates. The manager wanted to charge us the full kids buffet price of roughly over $16 dollars and don't forget she is just 2 years old. We did not make this mistake that employee made this mistake by telling us something that is not true and as a professional manager of a restaurant they should have honored what the employee said and not put us into this kind of situation. My whole family had never ever been so upset that a business would do such a thing to a 2 year old. the manager wanted to charge us for a full order of California rolls for my 2 year old but we had told her that this is just for my daughter and not us and she cant finish the whole order of California rolls and don't forget we had already paid for a chicken and rice dish that my daughter did not like at all so she can eat a little off our plates because that was what our server said would be OK. The lady manager had reduced it to half the order of California rolls for half the price but after putting up a fight and telling her that this was wrong and not our fault. We purchased the half order of California roll because our daughter looked sad that she could not eat ours.
Now to tell you about everything else well you already know how we feel about the service. We came in first and of course asked for a high chair and asked again and asked again then it finally came after asking 3X so you can see requesting service is just not there but bringing the food we ordered to our table is not a problem but requesting something simple obviously is. My water stayed empty for so long. If you like quantity over quality then this is the place to go. The sashimi was not cut right from what i know it supposed to be cut in very small pieces not huge pieces. I felt like i was stepping all over crumbs off the floor walking in. The place is old looking and a little on the depressing side to me. Knowing we are this upset they still included the tip in the bill and this place doesn't even include any desert in the all you can eat menu so don't expect that. I have been to one other AYCE up in Vegas when visiting and will be returning back to that one and never ever setting foot back in this one. I would say that this place with my experience is not kid friendly at all. Shame Shame Shame on you.
BEST SUSHI IN TOWN. Really enjoyed the great sushi menu. The fact that they have all you can eat oysters in a half shell is Mind Blasting. The servers were very good and kept us happy. Would drive across town for this culinary experience.
Our new favorite place.... After reading a couple of reviews about Hikari, I just had to write one! I am not a late diner so I don't care if they close at 1:30 a.m. instead of 2 a.m. I am new to sushi but have been to I Love Sushi (Henderson), Rising Sun and another on Trop & Jones. I enjoyed Hikari the best. The restaurant isn't the fanciest but if you eat at the sushi bar you can interact with other diners as well as the chefs. The food has always been great. Yes, we have tried dishes we weren't big fans of, but that is personal taste as far as I am concerned. We have never experienced bad tasting or unfresh fish. I am not a huge seafood person so if there is a slight fishy taste, I am out! Hikari is responsible for getting me to LOVE sushi. They have Tepenyaki as well but that area is not as nice as the sushi bar. We do see families w/ children there as well. You will love this restaurant if you prefer good food to high-priced (low quality food) strip restaurants.
Restaurant Always Closes Early !!!.
I used to go to this restaurant frequently, it is like 2 minutes from my house. It's not the best Sushi in town, but they are open late (sometimes), and they have an "all you can eat option" wich is decent value if you are hungry.
My main complaint is that they always close early, it's really a joke. They advertise that they are open until 2am, but in reality they close at 1:30am or even earlier. I have been there three times in the last two months between 1:15am and 1:20am (the time on my cell phone wich is always right), and they always say they are closed and that "last call" is at 1:30am, sorry, and point to their clock on the wall that is set 10-15 minutes fast.
If they want to close at 1:30am or earlier, just change the damn closing time!
all you can eat sushi. All you can eat sushi is a good draw, however, some of it is great & some of it not too good. I am speaking about the freshness of the fish. Usually we get Chef Wayne & he takes care of us. One time we got the owner & he gave us terrible fish & rolls....i vowed i would never go there again. My friend convinced me to go again, & finally i did. We make sure we get Chef Wayne, & if he's not there, then we will go another time.
Great inhospitality and low quality of Fish!!. Oh,,,,I have never been to this kind of restaurant in my whole life. This is disgusting. All sushi-chefs are talking about bad things about customers or cussing them. They know that none of American people cannot understand their japanese but I do.....I used to take many japanese classes at school before. Don't go to this restaurant. They do not even care if they offer disgusting fish, which is Sasimi, to customers and just they are laughing at something. This place do not deserve $25 for all you can eat. Sashimi does not have a good quality, sushi either. You would better to change your mind and go to some other sushi restaurants. Save your money, time and LIFE.
By far the best Sushi in Vegas. What can I say? VERY friendly service and extremely fresh sushi. The saba and hamachi are outstanding as well as the various rolls. The sushi chefs are always willing to customize your sushi to your liking and they are very creative. The AYCE is truly a value for the quality and flavor of their sushi. The teppanyaki/hibachi grill is also fantastic and the portions are huge. One of the BEST eats in Vegas.
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Vegas. I love Hikari, the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, they recognize frequent customers, the chefs are talented and very personable and the food is outstanding. My wife and I typically enjoy the hibachi with sushi appetizers and have never been disappointed and NEVER left hungry!!! The service has been reliably prompt and has consistently met my needs as a patron. The chefs are also very entertaining.
Fast all day before eating here!. This is our favorite restaurant & after eating sushi at the best places in CA & Hawai'i, it is great to have such fresh and innovative selections available in the desert!!! Definitely the best sushi joint in Las Vegas. Great Value for the price also - with the All-You-Can-Eat deal you can order 1/2 orders and try more. The oysters are wonderful too! We like the sushi bar and usually have sushi only. We have to roll ourselves out of there when we're thru - ENJOY!
Shawn. I am a fequent customer and highly recommend the sushi bar for entertaining guests from all over the world. I had my Aunt and Cousin from Japan try and they said it was very authentic Japanese food. The Cheif-Owner concept works well there. I especially love and recommend the all-you-can-eat sushi, always receive excellent service by the staff.
