Extremely bad food especially for the price you pay.
i love dining out at fancy restaurant and definitely spent a lot of money on food in vegas.
todai charged me $34 + tax & tips for really really bad food. sushi/sashimi wasnt fresh at all. everyone was like a hungry bear standing in line waiting for really bad quality oysters they would put out whenever they feel like (every 30 mins or so). crab legs had so much water in them because they were frozen for too long and were not well-handled. how could a normal/basic jap restaurant screw up a california roll? ASK TODAI. they sure know how to do it well.
no wet naps. all buffet restaurants that serve craps and osyters and other food that require using hands would give wet naps. NOT this place. all the pictures of food they show you, you won't find any in the restaurants. i didn't expect it to be a 5-star restaurant, but at least be an average one for the price. if i wanted to go cheap, i would rather go to panda express.
for that place you pay at todai, pls go to Society Cafe at Encore or Bunchoun @ Venetian and you will be sooooo satisfied with about the price you pay for at todai.
This enormous Japanese buffet attracts a diverse crowd for all-you-can-eat sushi and tempura..
In Short
The first Todai Restaurant debuted in 1985 in Santa Monica, Calif., and has since opened in locations across the U.S. and in Hong Kong. The restaurant, with seating for up to 500 people, features a 160-foot seafood buffet offering more than 40 kinds of sushi, all made fresh. The salad selection ranges from Caesar to seaweed to red potato salad. Hot entrees include sukiyaki, teriyaki chicken, sweet-and-sour pork and udon noodles.
Terrible Terrible Food!!!!. This is one of the worst places I have eaten at ever! The first time I went I tried a lot of the sushi and it did not taste fresh at all. The only thing I found myself able to stomach and go back for were the crab legs which were good. All the hot dishes and salad were mediocre at best. I thought maybe I just went on a fluke day and went back a year later to the same bad food. This time I brought my boyfriend and he couldn't eat anything. We've both vowed never to go back. With that being said it was very clean inside and the staff was very friendly and attentive but if the food is practically inedible it is not worth the money no matter how good the staff is.
Great Service, Good Food, Great Selection, Great Location, Good price. Great service -- I made a reservation for 20, but was joined by 10 more for 30. I hosted some, and others required separate checks, all wanted different drinks, the wait staff took it all in with grace and accommodated flawlessly. In this era of shoddy service, it's refreshing to encounter such positive attitudes. I would've given it a recommendation based on that alone. However, the food was good too! I've had better Japanese buffet, but not in the USA. This is the best I've encountered in USA and I received many positive comments from my fellow diners. I would definitely recommend this place.
I LOVE SUSHI. I love sushi and if I can have all I can eat GREAT !!!! We have a Minado's here in New Jersey and it's pretty much the same thing. Todai is better though. They have a greater variety and it's tastier. For the money you cannot ask for more !!! I LOVE SUSHI !!!!
chop stick........ Not bad. I stayed across the street at the Marriott Chateau and saw it in the Aladin shopping plaza. I have not eaten much sushi before and enjoyed their selection, well almost all of the RAW FISH LOL No I went for lunch on a Saturday. It was worth the $20. GO GATORS!!!
Love this place. Todai is an awesome concept for a sushi bar. You can pick and choose what you want to eat and how many pieces of each type of sushi you want. It's not any cheaper than what you would expect to pay for really good sushi, and the sushi is good but not really really good, but it's a fun place, especially for someone who has a few favorite rolls they could eat limitless amounts of. I wish they had this place back home.
Fresh!. I've never been disappointed at Todai's. They have a great variety of sushi and offer salmon and tuna sashimi. Because of the constant turnover, the fish is very fresh. I love the seaweed and octopus salads. They have a great variety of hot foods too. Best place for all you can eat!
Yummy!. I was very pleased dining at Todai. All the dishes I tried were yummy! The crab legs were fresh, the sushi was thick cut, fresh salads, and the finest deserts like creme brulee and cheesecake. I wish there was a location in Ohio!
Best sushi buffet ever. I love sushi and eat it all the time. This was the best sushi buffet ever. They have an amazing selection with a lot of variety. If you like sushi, you have to go here. It is located inside the mall at the Aladin.
