No Big Whup!. Walked in. Wasn't greeted with a very warm welcome. I told the receptionist that I wanted someone who wouldn't cut a lot of my hair off. She didn't even listen or even make eye contact with me when I was talking to her. She then put me with whoever she felt like, not even considering my hair needs. A young gay gentleman who was an assistant, walked me to the chair. He asked me if I wanted something to drink. I said water. Never even received the water. Guess he forgot. As for the cut, I just wanted an inch off all the way around. She took too much off of the length and hardly cut into the layers. Didn't do much blending either. She wasn't very warm. No personality. Didn't seem to care much about anything I said. She just agreed with everything, not even listening to me. She even said she'd been there for 6 years. Her name started with an "F", think it was Fergie or Fernia or something like that. My hair feels A LITTLE better after the "trim" but it wasn't what I asked for at all. WAS NOT WORTH 50 BUCKS OR THE 10 DOLLAR TIP THAT I GAVE HER. I felt like she would have gotten mad at me if I told her how I felt, so I figured I'd just come here and post a comment.
Curly Hair Stylist Wanted. Librarygoddess - I'm flying in to visit Amp Salon on your recommendation. Who should I ask for to do the curly hair cut?
AMP Salon Worth the Trip to Las Vegas.
AMP Salon is the Best Salon. The trip to AMP alone is worth the trip to Las Vegas. I fly out to Las Vegas once or twice a year and will only get my hair cut there. I know when I leave my hair will be easy to style either curly or straight. The professionals there have a "down to earth" attitude, even with an "A list" clientele on their walls.
I have curly hair and have had my hair butchered at many places. I have been to high end places, curly hair specialist and quick cut places. None have given me the great service and style that I get at AMP.
Not Worth the Money. Went to Amp expecting to walk out with great hair and walked out with roots about 2-3 shades lighter than my ends. Horrible color, not worth the money. If i'm spending $200 for color and cut, i xpect flawless color. Go somewhere else.
Not worth the price for men. Can't speak for other salon needs..
If you are a guy with short hair just needing or wanting a good cut, this place is absolutely NOT WORTH the 50 bucks!
After tip and product I spent over a $100. I've been in Vegas for 6 months and have tried the cheap salons, the $25 salons and finally the supposedly great place for $50. I swear that Supercuts (Trop & Hualapai) may have done a better job, if not the same. My hair was better before the cut & I should have the opposite feeling.
Even the salon itself isn't that big or nice. I feel ripped off & if I didn't feel bad about making the girl look bad I would have complained to management.
Where can I find a good stylist in this damn town?
