Editorial Review for Garduno's at Palms – by Guillermo Aicinena

In Short
This place serves more than just the regular tacos, burritos, tamales and the like. Dishes like pork adovado, posole, caldillo and real green chili also share the menu. Guests relish digging into the chip bowl or a basket filled with sopapillas (Mexican fried bread served with honey). Garduno's is famous for real New Mexico-style chili with meat and spices only--no beans--at a heat level that can change from day to day.

Garduno's sells itself as a top Mexican on the Strip. It actually is very mediocre at best. What I noticed about its shortcuts - they serve canned black olives. Terrible and a sign of cheap and poor food prep. The portions are also too large, the food is like a chain restaurant Chi-Chi's, and the staff really is nice but untrained. Not really worth a second look. Z

Was with there with a group because we were at the Palms, food was decent Mexican food. Pretty standard, portions were bigger than I expected. Enjoyed their salsa bar, went there for lunch on a Friday, service was decent.

Pros: Salsa bar, decent portion size for price

Cons: nothing bad, but nothing special
