Education YES: Building relationship NO
by rosem13639 at Citysearch
If you are looking for a school where you don't want any involvement with your child's education then Challenger is the school for you. In addition to the school's very rigid, dictatorship like policies and procedures, the school does not foster any form of relationship with parents. There are very minimal contact from the teachers (not the teachers' choice but administration.)The Elementary & Preschool directors and Head Master are not friendly at all. This school is very closed off to parents. If you try to contact the teacher, the director intervenes for the teacher. No parental involvement in the classrooms is allowed (Reason: "Quality Control" purposes per Head Master.) There are no field trips. No extra curricular activites (up to this date) are offerred. Ifi you try to walk your child in, the staff will immediately stop you. Like what the other review stated, "It's like arriving at a prison." The environment is very cold and stand offish.
Pros: Clean classroom, friendly teachers, organize, structured instruction and curriculum, uniforms
Cons: Expensive, Closed off to parents, rigid, unfriendly administrators and front office staff
High Tuition, Low to No Service

I do not recommend this school. Arriving at this school is like arriving at a prison. You would think after paying such a high tuition price one would at least be treated with respect and dignity. However, that is not the case here. They don't greet you, you greet them. You don't even get a return smile or hello or goodbye. My son has been here for a year now. It's not a one day's thing, it is everyday. The front office staff particularly, Linda is always demeaning with her responses and looks, her attitude express she is so much better then you. They are only there because their children are enrolled at Challenger and they receive a discounted tuition price. They are unapproachable and not there to help you. If Challenger teaches manners, how come they don't teach their front staff? Did they even receive an education at all? It seems like the front staff does not even have the bare basics down. How are they suppose to educate our kids?
- Pros: New Facility
- Cons: Arrogant, Demeaning and Rude Staff
