WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. This Medical Center has the WORST customer service. Today, I made a call to schedule an appointment for my son of 8 year old. I was transferred to Appoint , the a Lady answered, didn't say her name but said: "please can you hold?", not waiting for my answer, I was on hold. For three minutes then someone said: how can I help you? (no name provided either) I did tell her my child name and DOB, and she asked, when you want to come? I said anytime after next Monday, 08/08/11. The lady said, "ok, wait.. waiting for 3 more minutes.. Another attendant, said: "how I can help you", I though was the nurse, I said I want to make an appointm... she said: okay, hold please.. even if you don't believe it, someone after 6 minutes, came to the line and said : "yes, how I can help you"?.. this was upseting me, I said: well I was in the line already 21 minutes and you are not able to help me, I want to make an appointment for my son, but you constantly put me on hold..SHE said: " OK, sorry, HOLD ON PLEASE", yeah this one said PLEASE, but happyness ended when after 3 more minutes waiting for her, she DISCONNECTED the call. YES, I COULDN'T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT !!
Waited for 3 hours and finally left without treatment. I just waited for 3 hours at the Centennial Hills locationg of Desert Valley Pediatrics. My son was and still is very ill. Upon arrival, I explained to the girl at the front desk that my son was very ill and needed to be seen sooner than his appointment time. She said she would try. We waited for almost three hours, and no effort was made whatsoever to try and get my son in for treatment. I have been taking my children to DVP for over 10 years. The office staff IS RUDE, and made no effort to help us out. I will never take my children to DVP again, and will tell every person that I know about my horrible experience. We finally left without seeing a doctor. Shame on you office staff at Desert Valley Pediatrics! Your office should be closed down!
Not Worth the Wait.....
We are fairly new to Las Vegas. For what ever reason, my 2 yr old has been having a rattling chest for about 3-4 months. We have been going to Dr. Nyarko ever since we noticed it. He asks my husband and I EVERY TIME we are there who has asthma and who has allergies....NO ONE!!!! If we didn't have them last time we were there, why would we have them now? And why would we lie about it when we are trying to take care of our son? He put our son on breathing treatments on Nov 5, and he'd still be on them except we took our son to another doctor and got another opinion.
We took our son in one day b/c he was sick-they said 4:00. We were there at 3:45. We didn't even get called back until 5:30, and we didn't get to leave until after 6. I went up at 5pm and asked how much longer b/c we'd been there for an hour...the front office lady said there was a 3:45 and a 3:50 still in front of us-WHY WOULD YOU SCHEDULE STUFF IN 5 MINUTES INCREMENTS??????
Dr. Nyarko is okay-nothing spectacular and he had my son on breathing treatments for no reason for 2 months until we took him to another doctor. The office staff is rude and unprofessional and no one apologizes for wasting your time. Don't bother w/ this place!
Dr KY is wonderful and treats people with true care.
I just have to say, I agree that the office needs some re training as far as customer service and treating patients with respect especially when it comes to the BUSINESS aspect of the practice (INSURANCE and Billing).
it is worth it for us to over look those office type details. Dr. Ky has been such a wonderful Dr. to my son. We go for care and quality care is what my son gets.
I feel like in so many practices the doctors' see so many patients that they forget who your child is or they treat you like just another person without a soul or feelings.
I typically DO NOT TRUST doctors but....
I find it easy to trust that what Dr. Ky tells me is genuine and offers very good advice! Dr. Ky has shown care and concern for my son. He has a wonderful calm spirit about him but is very informative and direct. He takes the time to actually LISTEN and has never made me feel like he was trying to rush me out to see the next patient.
I do have to say that the nurses are awesome, kind and friendly and I have ALWAYS been seen ON TIME at the Centennial location! That is HUGE! I remember waiting upwards of 1 hour at the location in Summerlin.
That said, I feel that the GOOD positive qualities of this practice totally out weigh the bad.
My son is happy with Dr. Ky and that is what matters the most.
Dr. Greenspon is the best!!!!. I have been taking my boys to DVP for years. I don't know if I would still be going if it wasn't for Dr. Greenspon. When I go see any other dr. the wait can be up to 2 hours for a scheduled appointment. Dr. Greenspon is ALWAYS on time. I would have given DVP 5 stars but the office staff makes that difficult. I have a problem with staff that will turn someone away for a balance less then $100. They don't send out bills on time so you never know if you have a balance or not. My son went in April for a sick appointment. I never received a bill until I made an appointment 4 months later. I received my bill just days before my scheduled appointment. The office staff is rude and cares only about themselves. Like I said if I didn't like the doctor so much I would be gone.
Great Pediatrician. Dr. Blank is a great doctor. We have been seeing him for 3 years at Summerlin office. They always fit the kids in when they are sick and see us fairly quickly. I would recommend this office to anyone.
RUDE RECEPTIONIST (CENTENNIAL HILLS). We've been going to Desert Valley Pediatrics (Dr. Nyarko, Centennial Hills location) since my son was born, he is now 2 1/2. The wait is often over 2 hours. The receptionist was super rude about how we owe $70.00..( I DID NOT HAVE ANY IDEA THAT I OWED $70) The way she spoke, one would have thought it was $7000.00. The wait is bad enough, especially when you have a sick child, but to have a receptionist be so rude is completely unacceptable! I will not be going back!!!
Chilren Refused Treatment due to an Outstanding Balance.
My children have been patients of DVP for over 7 years. I have 5 children. My youngest is specail needs with cerebral palsy and a very rare condition called XXYY Syndrome. He has been hospitalized multiple times for respiratory issues. He has had a high fever and difficulty breathing all weekend. We have been in contact with the nurse line and treating flu like symptoms at home all weekend. This morning in the middle of a national health crisis my children were refused treatment because of an outstanding balance of $100. In these tough economic times we are struggling to feed our children but do still carry insurance. I am disgusted and horrified that this is the standard practice of this office. My children are sick and in need of medical care. Dr. Perez today REFUSED to treat us and told us to go to quick care.
I DO NOT recommend this office to anyone!!
Poor Service and Forgetful Doctor.
One of my biggest complaints concerning Desert Valley Pediatrics is their lack of Customer Service and the unavailability of calling directly to the office front desk. I tried for two weeks to contact the Doctor that requested me to contact her. Everytime I called I was routed to an automated call center or a central reservationist. I left several messages, faxed info, and eventually had to just go to the office personally to leave a message for the Doctor to contact me.
During my initial visit with the doctor, the staff seemed annoyed that they have to interact with patients/children. The wait was long, especially for children, and the Doctor seemed to address me (the parent) as a child. She seemed very opinionated and offered a prescription for my child, but forget to write it out and give it to us. For a medical office geared at providing care for children, they don't seem to present that atmosphere or even make it customer friendly for the parents to follow-up with their doctors. I was very disappointed with the entire process from scheduling to meeting with the doctor. I think a little in-house customer service training could go a long way in improving care for their patients. I definitely will not be returning to this office and really felt it was a waist of time and money to send my children there.
Hate calling to make and appointment. I was recommended to this group through a friend. I really like doc Perez, she is very knowledgeable and friendly with the kids but I hate when I call they always have me on hold forever! I also agree with all the others, I have usually been called back quickly but once in the actually room I wait about 45 min on average. if they could manage the time more efficiently it would be the best office ever!!
