Advanced Guitar is the worst there is.
I brought my guitar to Advanced Guitar to relieve a buzzing B string. They sold me on a "set up" job that cost me $150.00. They had the guitar in their shop for TWO FULL WEEKS, then I HAD TO CALL THEM to find out what was going on with my guitar! He told me the guitar was done and to come and get it. They fixed the original buzzing B string problem and when I got it home, a day later, I noticed the E string is now buzzing!!!!!!! Not only that, but they didn't like the way the pickups were sitting in their pockets and took the liberty, without my permission or notifying me at all, of drilling out the pickup holes and making them bigger. This wouldn't have been so bad, but the drilling job was amateur at best and the holes were crooked and it looks terrible.
Never again. "Advanced Guitar" should change their name to: "We Suck At Fixing Guitars!"
Terrible customer service AND my guitar got stolen!. I brought 4 guitars here to be repaired on advice from apparently a friend of the owners that these guys are the best. Well they quoted a turn time of 10 days to 2 weeks. I call after 10 days, they tell me one of my guitars was stolen from the shop the previous week. Thanks for the phone call, I have to call you to tell me my guitar is stolen. Then they say it's going to be another week for the guitars to get done. It's now 3 weeks past that date and all I get is excuses. Take your guitars anywhere but here, they will go into Guitar Limbo and you will never get out of it.
Got my Martin kit.
I bought a Martin kit thinking I could build it myself. WRONG
After much trial and error, finally took it to Advanced Guitar to see if they could build it for me. Jim and Billy were great. They took that kit and built me a beautiful guitar that sounds as sweet as it looks.
I'm sorry that I can't say anything good about the place. I wish I could give a positive review. But, I experienced extremely poor customer service there and experienced a total void of business professionalism as well. The only explanation that I can think of is that they already have all the customers now that they think they will ever need.
I dropped my guitar off a week ago last Monday for a set-up. They said that they would get right to it and they would call me within a couple of days to pick it up. They said that It would be the following Saturday at the very latest. It is now Wednesday. I called them to find out what was going on. They couldn't find my guitar. I had to describe what it looked like . Then I had to describe the case that it was in. After rummaging around for a while the guy informed me that it wasn't done yet. And again, they would get right to it, just as was said before. So I picked it up , undone. I'm taking it somewhere else. Maybe it was just a mistake on their part. Okay , I can understand a mistake. But, their tone of voice never even approached apologetic. It was obvious that they did not care if I was satisfied or not. That is a huge mistake if they want to run a business. Guitar Center should send their clients elsewhere.
