Great Salon!. charming salon with a terrific group of talented stylists. Everyone is super accommodating. It has a great atmosphere and is reasonably priced. Eva is outstanding with color and cuts. Book early!!
Great Haircuts with Megan.
I've been getting my haircuts here for years. I started with someone and after she moved she referred me to Megan who is just awesome!
I don't go often to get my hair cut but I always feel great when I leave. I trust Megan with my hair and she really knows what she's doing. I love that you start with a nice shampoo in chairs that massage you and a scalp massage.
If youre reading these reviews and basing them off if you want to go here make sure you go see Megan!
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experiences at Globe Salon. Megan is indeed one of our top requested stylists. Recruited by Globe Salon in 2004, she survived our "Globe Salon Boot Camp" to thrive behind the chair as a top member of our team -- highly skilled, detail oriented, personable and talented. Do keep in mind that if ever you find yourself in a bind and unable to see Megan, we put all of our stylists through the same "Boot Camp" process, so you'd be in good hands. Thank you again for taking the time to tell us about your visit; if ever you experience anything less, we want to know. -James Reza, GM
so many reasons to go back. The salon is small and intimate with lots of style. The stylists they have are not only talented but professional. The skin care specialist is absolutely amazing. One of the best facials I have had and it was truly relaxing. she did an excellent job. The haircuts and color I have received there have also been really great. I have gone to other salons in between, but stylists like Staci are hard to come by, she does a great job of listening and an even better job of knowing your hair. What I am trying to say is, there is no reason to look elsewhere.
Thank you so much for letting us know about your experiences at Globe Salon. Being a great stylist is definitely as much about communicating with the guest as anything else, and it is something we try hard to do very well, so we appreciate your appreciation. Our skin care specialist is truly one of the undiscovered gems on our team; she is gentle, thorough, and pleasant, all qualities she brings from a background of professional spa and massage experience. Thank you again; if anything every changes your opinion of us, we want to know! -James Reza, GM
Nice People - Horrible Stylists.
I could be a little spoiled, I do live in NYC, but no matter where I am, I expect a perfect blowout no matter what, especially if I'm being charged $75 for it.
This was my second visit even after the epic blowout failure the first time. I thought if I changed stylists and upgraded to a higher priced one it would solve the problem. No, it didn't.
They use exceptional products, Oribe, as does my salon in New York so I'm not sure why my hair didn't turn out the same. I informed the stylists, both times, that I have very coarse, dry, color treated hair but that I wanted it to be very straight with a slight curl on the end. I have this done twice a week at my salon at home perfectly, it isn't difficult. Or at least my stylist here makes it seem easy. Not only that, but my stylist got it right the first time she ever did it.
The first stylist used a paddle brush on my hair. I would have normally been against that, but I had a stylist do my hair in Chicago with one beautifully so I thought it could be done. It can't, at least not at this salon. My hair that night started to frizz and become full of body, the exact thing I didn't want. It isn't like Las Vegas is humid so the only thing I could come up with is that she obviously didn't know how to do a proper blowout.
I'd like to say that, in all the years I've been straightening my hair, I have never had these kinds of problems. Granted, once I find someone to do my hair, I stay with them. But even traveling I've never had this much trouble. I've had my hair done at the Bellagio and it was decadently beautiful.
So, onto the SECOND try with this same salon. The more advanced stylist who charged an outrageous amount for a blowout, did my hair with a brush with an oblong barrel which I asked about. She assured me that the curl at the bottom would be the same as with a round barrel. It wasn't. Not even close. It looked horrible so I asked her to redo it. She chose a smaller brush with another oblong barrel. Again, same result.
The problems really didn't start until a few hours later with both hairstyles. They began to frizz, my hair began to get more and more volume and eventually it felt unhealthy and dry and the curl didn't stay nor would my hair flatten anymore even when blowdried at home.
Both times my hair was a disaster. Either the bar is low for stylists in Vegas and that's what makes people love this salon or, I have no clue. I pay half of what she charged me in NYC and my hair turns out perfectly every time.
I will never spend another dime in this salon and I certainly wouldn't trust them with color, semi-permanent straightening or a cut if they can't get a blowout right.
As as aside I rarely write reviews (unless the service is really terrible or extraordinary), but with all the 5-star ratings (I'm honestly dumbfounded) I had to tell about my disappointing experiences. This place is not anywhere near the salon it's claimed to be -- not by a very long shot.
We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your experience at Globe Salon, especially since we aim for total accountability of our work. We work very hard to recruit talented hairdressers who then must undergo additional training (both in-house and off-site), so I stand firmly behind the skill, training and knowledge of our creative team, and am confident that the many guests who visit us several times per week (explicitly for blowouts of coarse, curly hair), as well as those guests who are thrilled with their experiences with us and have reviewed us here, is a testament to that fact. We strive to develop relationships with our guests that allow us the opportunity to learn and understand their hair (or skin) and its condition, along with their needs and personality. Still, not every place is right for everyone, and we sincerely hope you find satisfaction at another salon. -James P. Reza, GM
AMAZING!!!. I discovered this place a few months ago and I feel very lucky! I had been looking for a place to get my hair done in Vegas and Globe has highly exceeded my expectations. I look forward to my visits there because I always enjoy myself and come away looking great.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experiences at Globe Salon. We are happy that not only do you say that you look great when you leave, but that you have a good time while you are in the salon. We have worked hard to procure a talented team who enjoy providing a high level of professional and personable service, so if you ever experience anything less, please do bring it to my attention right away. We look forward to continue serving you in the best way we can! -James P. Reza, GM
Wonderful exeperience!! Thumbs up!! : ).
It was my first time to a Salon in Las Vegas. Normally I gamble, or go shopping but this time around I was invited to go to a black tie event so I had to look fabulous. I found out about the GLOBE SALON through this site, and it lived up to it's standards. I was greeted immediately the moment I walked in the door. It seemed really busy, so that was good. Everyone was smiling, laughing, focused, talking, engaged in activity, and just having fun. I had a good vibe. I felt really rushed because I was 15min. late to my appointment, but the manager really calmed me down with a beverage. My stylist was Leilani, or Lei lei. I have to say she was the best! She listened to exactly everything I had to say about what I wanted. Some stylist just assume right away right after 3 words. So she listened, and styled my hair EXACTLY (If not better) how I wanted my hair. She gave me a lot of advice on hair products, and recommended a Bumble and Bumble deep conditioning treatment that I purchased. She was very educated on everything I asked her about. What surprised me the most was the price for my type of style. Normally back home (Chicago Subs.) $45-$60 at some small blah hair cuttery type place that takes over an hour and leave my hair hard and crunchy. GLOBE SALON $30 for my style!!! I think I asked the manager if that was the correct price twice. My hair was not crunchy or hard, it was silky and full of volume....perfect!! And that's why I left Leilani a $20tip. Overall, my experience was amazing! I will definately go back to Globe for any of their services again!! Very professional!! Thanks to all the staff!!
You have no idea how much it means to us that you had such a positive experience at Globe Salon, and that you took the time to write such a detailed review. When you put as much effort as we do into satisfying guests and making sure they are happy, it is wonderful to hear that we are succeeding. We hope to see you the next time you are in Las Vegas, and we thank you again for the opportunity to have you as a guest. -James P. Reza, GM
To put it simply, I'm a nerd. I moved to Las Vegas over 10 years ago when I was 10. Instead of finding a stylist, I just went to Supercuts. Sure, they had no idea how to cut my hair so it looked good, but I didn't care enough to look for a better hair cut. So, eventually, a few months ago, I decided to try out a salon. Being the aforementioned nerd, I spent days searching the internet to find a match for me. Eventually, I decided it was Globe. I got an appointment, but they were moving and I got mine pushed back several times. Eventually, it was time for my cut. As I drove over, I felt some apprehension because we've all heard of the artificially inflated scores some places get, and they had recommended their "least experienced stylist" to me. Once I got there, I was greeted immediately and promptly given something to drink. I settled down with a magazine for what I assumed would be at least fifteen minutes. However, I was in the middle of the first article when my stylist, Leilani, came for me. Amazingly, she listened to everything I said. I told her that she was the expert and should do what she thought was best. Her response was, "But YOU have to like it." Eventually, she won the battle against my stubborn hair and got something that was beautiful and easy and matched my personality. I left looking and feeling great. My hair is truly wash and wear and still looks wonderful. A couple weeks later, I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a long time who works as a receptionist at a salon, and she raved over it.
Thank you to everyone at Globe Salon for such an amazing experience.
We are truly honored that your experience at Globe Salon resulted in such a heartfelt response - it reminds us that we are taking the right path in striving every day to create experiences just like yours. Thank you for your patronage, and for taking the time to write this. We appreciate you! (And we hope to have the signage on our new location very soon!) - James P. Reza, GM
Umm...what exactly is 5 stars about this place?. I have gone to Globe several times for a bikini wax & twice for a haircut. I have no complaints about the wax, everything was great (a little pricey though & the technician insisted that I come in every 2 weeks, that can add up in $). Now regarding hair. My technician was recommended to me by the token snooty receptionist (I told her I didn't want anyone too trendy). She recommended Megan. First, appointment was pretty decent. I have very long hair and told her from the beginning I wanted to keep it that way. She could sense I was nervous so she was extremely conservative & I appreciated that. So I felt like I could trust her after that to be more aggressive. The second time I went in & tried my hardest to explain that I wanted layers, she was just not having it (I think hairstylists think long hair is "sooo boring and just sits there"). Anyway, we ended up sort of agreeing on an idea. Now here's the kicker, she DID NOT want to wash my hair. She told me she was going to dry cut it (which is fine) but I assumed that meant washing/drying or cutting it & then washing/drying it. I had gone to a club the night before & my hair reaked. She said she didn't have time. Finally, she said she'd have the assistant wash it after she dry cut it. The haircut was ok minus her 'tude. After that, the assistant washed my hair & it took her a good hour to dry it (even for long hair that was a biiitt mmuuchh). Then she wanted to show me how to use a curling iron (whoop-dee-doo!). I tried to tell her my hair is super straight & won't curl. To prove that to her it took about 20 minutes (time to heat up the iron which she couldn't find & start sweating as she realized my hair doesn't bend). Finally, we agreed on a flat iron to smooth everything out. I flat iron my hair in 5 min. at home it took her a good 20. So I spent 2+ hours getting irritated & left with a trim and a bad flat iron job. I tipped both of them, don't ask me why. Bottom line: NEVER AGAIN!
While we are puzzled as to why you found everything great on several visits yet you rated us one star, we're truly sorry your expectations were not met. There are several reasons Megan -- one of our most referred and detail-oriented stylists -- might not shampoo you, but we have several licensed Assistants on the floor at all times to ensure we provide full service to every guest, which includes shampoo, essential conditioning, and a standard blowout/style. Additionally, our staff is trained to suggest an appointment interval to achieve the best results, but the guest is clearly free to decide. We always do everything we can to satisfy every guest, and I invite this guest to call me personally to discuss this visit and explore what we can do to that end. As always, we will do so with pleasure and without attitude. -James P. Reza, GM
Best place in Vegas for Wedding updo's!. Globe salon is definitely the place to go to get your hair done for your wedding! I went there with my 2 bridesmaids and all three of us got exactly what we were looking for without being able to describe the hairdo's very well. They made my wedding day that much more special by the ease and quickness they did all of our hair along with how great we looked for my wedding. I'd definitely recommend Globe to anyone going to Vegas for a wedding! Plus they don't charge an arm and a leg!
Thank you for allowing Globe Salon to help make your wedding day a success. It's especially satisfying to receive unsolicited positive comments from guests who have enjoyed their experiences -- you make it all worth it! Please visit us at our new location any time you are in Las Vegas. -James P. Reza, General Manager
Hairstylist not for the faint of heart....
Based on the excellent reviews at CitySearch, I decided to give Globe a try. I have to agree that management was great, the gentleman taking care of me at checkout was very helpful.
Based on Globe's website of staff descriptions, I tried NIcole for a cut and color. She did a great job with the color, she's clearly a strong colorist, and the haircut was good, not the best. I do have to advise tho', that Nicole is not for the faint of heart...She greeted me with "So what's the deal?" which caught me off guard a bit, and smacked her gum through most of the appointment. She's got the mouth of a sailor and lacks in professionalism. She's good (which seems to be so hard to find in Vegas), but if you're on the conservative side, I would recommend trying someone else.
As for the salon itself, I am not so sure what the other reviewers are seeing as so hip and modern. It has a 'warehouse/renovated a smoothie joint in a strip-mall/ feel to it to me. It comes across as sterile and cold, more than hip and modern. I know that they are moving to a new location downtown soon, so I will be curious to see what the new location is like.
I did appreciate that there was no pretense about the salon, and management seems very professional and willing to make things right, therefore I will be back.
A salon visit is a very personal commitment, and as you noted, we care a great deal about how our guests perceive their Globe Salon experiences. We know it's not only about skill, but also personality and service. As the Nicole you saw is no longer employed by us, Salon Director Staci is always available to suggest a stylist with whom you might "click". The choice is always yours; in fact we encourage guests to know a variety of stylists so they can feel good about seeing another if circumstances necessitate. Our original location's minimalist Mid-Century Modern design was loved by many, but we appreciate that some might have found it stark. While we cannot promise that our new location in Soho Lofts matches your style, we can say it is very different and certainly not in a strip mall! We look forward to your next visit, and appreciate the opportunity to help you find your place at Globe Salon. -James P. Reza, G
