Mark Knopfler Editorial Review
The Skinny
Since disbanding hitmakers Dire Straits nearly a decade ago, Mark Knopfler has focused his energies on more eclectic work, much of it done in Nashville. The Scottish-born guitar whiz's current tour finds him supported by four Nashville session players and Dire Straits holdover Guy Fletcher. All played on Knopfler's recent "Sailing to Philadelphia." Expect to hear much of the Americana-flavored new material, as well as the Dire Straits classics "Sultans of Swing," "Walk of Life" and the MTV breakthrough "Money for Nothing."
The Crowd
Fans of Knopfler's sometime collaborators Chet Atkins, James Taylor, Van Morrison and Eric Clapton.
