Editorial Review for Hookah Lounge – by Andrew Kiraly
In Short
Settees, sounds and smokes: This odd little cultural nugget, an extension of the wildly successful Mediterranean Cafe, melds East and West by introducing hookahs to the rumpled coffeehouse crowd. What's a hookah? It's a big fancy water pipe used for smoking aromatic tobacco, a major pastime in India and the Near East--and now, Las Vegas. The Hookah Lounge is a not-quite-traditional smoking room spritzed with a Gen X vibe, from the electronic music to the lively twenty-something clientele.

My wife and I went to the Hookah Lounge in hopes of a new and pleasurable experience but were profoundly disappointed. We got there at the very end of happy hour and they did put our original drink order in after it ended and still gave us happy hour pricing although those were the only drinks we got in the hour and a half we were there. We had the steak and chicken kabobs. The food was decent but nothing worth writing home about. I ate my food slowly in hopes to get another drink to accompany my meal but it never happened. After we finished eating we stacked our dishes and waited for the check. After about ten minutes we had to ask for the check. After we got the check I immediately inserted my credit card and placed it on the edge of the table. Finally, after another 15 minutes the host that checked ID's as we came in noticed that we were getting antsy and came over to see if he could pick up the check. So in summary, the food was mediocre and the service terrible. I would have stayed longer and spent a whole lot more money had someone payed some attention to us. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know.
Pros: Good happy hour prices
Cons: Service, limited menu

The Hookah Lounge is a highlight of any vegas trip. We went for happy hour and every drink is half price! Had two hookahs and the corner booth for two hours, and our bill for four people was unbelievably cheap. They have a wide variety of tobacco flavors, we tried the jasmine and cherry I believe. I had 4 Red Velvet's...good stuff. Red Army vodka, Red B-ull and Red Raspberry liqueur (Chambord) on the rocks. There is also an attached restaurant, but we didnt eat....as we were pregaming before dinner. TIP: Arrange for a cab to take you back, location is not prominent and it was hard to get a cab out there.
Pros: Drinks, Hookah, Happy Hour
Cons: location, return cab ride difficult if not arranged for first
