Editorial Review for Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay – by Lynn Goya

Overview
Feeling parched? This immersion into an undersea world should do the trick. One of the city's newest aquatic attractions, Shark Reef contains 75 species of sharks, tropical and freshwater fish, reptiles, marine invertebrates and rays. The largest is a 12-foot long nurse shark. Ultimately, Shark Reef hopes to have nearly 100 different species swimming over, under, around and through the exhibit.

Features
The attraction offers a petting area, along with a the tunnel directly through the aquarium to give you that deep sea feeling. Watch out for the cool, golden crocodile that likes to stare people down. There's even a section that allows for "walking on water," complete with a display underneath featuring a fake treasure chest and plastic (we hope) skeleton.

A good diversion when in Vegas, especially on hot summer days. The setting is very nice, and the small aquarium will not wear you out. A nice display of sharks and other marine life. A good place for families, which is becoming more rare in Vegas.

Pros: Small, Easy to Cover, Good Display

Cons: Not a complete marine environment, and selection is limited.

Great way to see an aquarium, with the sunken ship wreck theme and all. Sure we've all seen sharks and underwater fishies before, but this is Vegas baby; they do it different here! Comes with free audio tour and everything.

Spend an hour exploring an ancient temple that has been slowly claimed by the sea--Vegas-style, that is.   See the full editorial review.
