Tips for Voodoo Steak & Lounge

NO. NO. NO. NO. Went there about a month ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. She didn't want to go on the main strip, because it would be crowded for her. I had read reviews on this place, and got excited. It sounded fun enough, without being too sleezy crazy.

We went on a Saturday, and on their website, it says that they open at nine.

We got there, and their sign said that they opened at 10.

The bouncer assured me that they opened at nine.... We boarded the elevator at 915.

The elevator ride was...awesome. The elevation of this club is amazing, so sad that is being wasted by this place. They don't even have a full bar up there..... I asked for a mojito, and the bartender...very rudely told me that he couldn't make me one....

So, I ordered a very disgusting, and very expensive margarita..

The crowd.... is older.... I mean, grandparents older. We got there, and there were maybe ten other people out on the balcony.... smoking. There was NO DJ. They were playing some repetitive beat that was terrible.

We stayed for about an hour, hoping things would turn around, but they didn't.

No luck here.

Nice place!!! Food good, service good. They were very friendly and happy to have locals and show them a good time.

Great... but miss the old style. I visited The Voodoo Steak and Lounge over Memorial Day weekend for the first time since the place changed formats. The restaurant was once more of a general New Orleans-style fine dining experience, but they've rebranded themselves a steakhouse... and even though Vegas is clearly not in desperate need of a new steakhouse, it's a very good one, with a funky style, interesting spices on the meats and amazing views of the Vegas skyline.

I will say I miss the former inception of the restaurant, mostly because they had a Chicken Bourbon (which they called Chicken-Some-Street-in-New-Orleans) that was ridiculously good. But they still serve the Witch Doctor, a massive and rum-heavy drink complete with smoking dry ice, so the restaurant is still very much worth a visit. Don't forget to grab a drink in the lounge just above the restaurant, where you can listen to some great tunes while enjoying that breathtaking view.

Voodoo Lounge is yet another Awesome View of Vegas. VooDoo is located 51 stories up at the Rio hotel, which lends itself to some of the best Strip views in Vegas. Then there’s also the enormous 40,000-pound staircase that had to be air-lifted to the top of the hotel, which gives you two floors of partying. Get the Voodoo Feel. The Voodoo Lounge is a stylish designed bar with lots of atmosphere and vibe.

I cannot tell you if there is any voodoo but this one definitely has the "mojo".

Drinks are fantastic, its expensive even for Las Vegas but I think its worth it.

Has anyone ever gone to Las Vegas to safe money? ;-)

Great View. We went to Voodoo Lounge on the first stop of a 3-club tour with www.vegashotspots. com. We got there just as it opened and opted not to get a VIP table but the host from the website got us a couple of rounds of drinks for free. Because it was early and it wasn't too crowded we were able to talk to a group of girls who eventually met us later on at Jet. The best part about this club was the view. We were able to get some great photos of the Strip as it lighted up the Las Vegas sky.

Overall, it's a pretty cool place with a great view. Definitely a cool place to start off the night.

Soled out Wednesdays ROCK!!!!. Soled Out Wednesdays ol School Hip-Hop Night, is by far my favorite night of the week to go out in Las Vegas! I dont have to get all fancy, I can wear my Baseball hat and Sneakers and not be sweated by the door men! They have had some of the best DJs and Live performers! Even Saw a few live bands down on the patio!!!

Every Wednesday @ the VooDoo on the Patio! you will see me there!!

Thieves!! Run.. don't walk away!. Closed my tab for 35 buck and some change.. no problem. Until the more than $500.00 charge showed up on my credit card too! The Rio's accounting department gave both me and the bank the run-around for 3 months and then submit a forged payment slip. Similar things have happened to at least 3 other locals that I have spoken to.. all at the VooDoo Lounge. I'm getting ready to file charges with the police and the State Attorney General.

Save your self... run away!

Again great view, but not wroth it!. I bought front of the line passes and open bar tickets to the Voodoo Lounge for $100.00/ person from Vegas dot com . It says that you get premium alcohol like Sky Vodka, Jack Daniels, and Crown Royal, but you dont. You get cheap $10 b.s.! There is no seating, unless you are VIP which cost $400 and up. The inside is really small and out side is nice, but when it 110 degress thats not very fun. The music was good but the bartenders were not very nice. Like everything else I experienced in Vegas, the Voodoo lounge is only fun if you are wealthy and can afford to spend and loose $1,000 a night. So if you have that kind of money go for it. If not, your better off buying your own bottle and walking about with it.
