Smash Mouth Editorial Review
The Skinny
Unless you've lived in a vacuum since the late '90s, you've heard a Smash Mouth tune. The California quartet have inundated the airwaves with three-minute nuggets of summer fun that also double as commercial soundtracks. (How many movie trailers have featured the band's "All Star" since the song was first released in 1999?) Smash Mouth's roots are in the California punk scene, but it seems content churning out Top 40 chart-toppers. They've gone from covering "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" for the 1998 teen flick "Can't Hardly Wait," to taking on The Monkee's "I'm A Believer" for the blockbuster "Shrek."
